Victory Park Hostel - Maya Hostel

Amazing stay in Bangkok!! Such kind staff and super comfortable rooms Metro fairly close by

Great location, we had one night here as we had to fly the next day and it’s close enough to the train line that takes you out to the airport. The park in front of the hotel was amazing. And the main streets to the east have lots of good food. Property was very clean, staff very friendly, the view from the top floor over the park was great! AC worked very well, WiFi worked; all great! Happily stay again. I’ve uploaded a photo of the park in front of the hotel.

The toilet is a little small, but not a problem. And the decor is lacking but not really a problem considering the affordability of the property. We would happily stay again.

The host was amazing. Such a sweet and helpful man. He asked everyday if we wanted him to tidy our rooms. He was always available if needed (which we didn’t need at all, because everything was great). We had room nr. 5 (double room/bed, top floor)and thought we had to share a bathroom with other rooms, but to our surprise we didn’t. The top floor had two individual toilets, marked with the room number, even though the bathroom wasn’t IN our room, it was right outside, and it was a great solution to make each room have their own toilet/shower. It was very clean and the host always made sure everything was tidy. Internet was super. There was also a hairdryer to use. The hostel is on the outskirts of the popular hotspots of Bangkok. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the hostel to the nearest metro “Victory monument”. We found train/metro to work perfectly fine. If you take the MRT (train) you can pay by visa/mastercard through the gates. On the BTS (skymetro) you will need cash and by tickets in the offices (very easy). Even though the hostel was on the outskirts I really recommend it if you want to look at more of Bangkok, and not just the hotspots for tourists, at the same time, it’s very easy to travel to those places as well. We never took at taxi/grab, only train/metro.

Not an issue for us, but can be for other travelers. The toiletroom is quite small. You are practically sitting IN the door if you’re over 175 or have really long legs. Otherwise, the hostel is on the outskirts of the “main area” in Bangkok. You will have to travel by grab/train/metro to get to places.

The host ist super friendly! Although it’s an hostel I had a toilet and shower assigned to my room. It’s in front of a park. The bed was super comfy.
