The host made very tasty breakfasts that were quite hearty and varied. One morning we had salmon, rice, miso soup, and fruit and the next morning we had scrambled eggs, bread, yogurt, fruit. There was also coffee and green tea available. The coffee shop right next door has a great lunch and there is a sushi restaurant that is also around the corner (make a reservation!). I also highly recommend the ladies selling pineapple plushies at the Painu food truck. The rooms were very clean and quiet at night.

The little town of Kabira is a very sleepy town with only a few restaurants. It was recommended that we make reservations, especially on Sunday, when even fewer restaurants were open. As I do not speak Japanese, I asked the host to help me make a reservation at one of the few nearby restaurants. She said she couldn't (through Google translate), because the restaurant wouldn't take reservations made by a 3rd party - which made absolutely no sense to me. She told me to walk to the restaurant and "speak" to them myself. The restaurant was quite rude and told me that they weren't able to seat me and my friends - even though they were more than half empty at 5:45pm. So make preparations ahead of time for restaurants. Also, I would recommend getting a car in Ishigaki. Kabira is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Buses and taxis are very infrequent so you're kind of stuck there. Also the convenience shop have very irregular opening days and hours. I would buy snacks from the bigger cities or bring from home as it's pretty hard to find snacks to eat, after 6pm.

Cute and clean. The breakfast was great and the room was very comfortable.

Be aware the area is very quiet and highly recommend getting reservations for dinner prior to needing one. Do not expect to just arrive and be seated.

Very convenient because in front of the sea. The spot was very calm with some delicious restaurants nearby.

Poor value compared to the rest of our trip and much less personal. Lots of strict rules and not much flexibility or kindness in approach.
