Location! Location! SUMMER SAVINGS at 5 Cross Bay Estate, next to Horseshoe Bay

Fabulous stay with fabulous hosts on a fabulous island. Location is SUPERB. On the best part of the best side (south) of Bermuda! Beaches closeby often deserted and pristine!!! Snorkelling best ever! Huge parrot fish everywhere! Wendell and Xenia are simply the most friendly helpful sweet and charming hosts you could ever wish to have! They made our stay so wonderful! The room is small!- and a little dated but charming and had useful touches - like a cold box you could take to the beach with an ice pack in for cold drinks. We spotted humpback whales just in front of the house most mornings (March to May) Take good binoculars! We rented a 2 person scooter from Elbow Beach cycles (great service) as car hire is a fortune!! Roads are busy but so glad we did as gives you freedom to explore the island which we did. Meals and drinks are London prices plus 50%!!! It is not cheap!! Be warned! Buses are frequent easy and q cheap. Get book of 15 passes on Shorelink App! 10GB eSIM data plenty only 30 from Saily! Keeps you connected on the move. WiFi at the property fast and excellent. We used ear plugs and eye masks as we are light sleepers (main road close to room) Go stay with Wendell!- he now has a second larger more updated room in his house. You will have the best time!!!! We did! Jasmine (daughter) will pick you up from airport for 65 (much cheaper than taxis and will go via grocery store for provisions!) Take duty free booze with you out there to enjoy on your varandah! GO!!

This is a small but functional unit in a good location. There is a private beach 124 steps down and it is beautiful and worth the steps! There were 4 restaurants that we could easy walk to and all were good, but surprisingly, Boundaries, at the golf course, was our favorite. We both run and being able to access the railway trail about a half mile away was great. The bus stop is literally a few steps away, which was convenient. There is some traffic noise but turning the AC fan on takes care of that. Wendell, Xenia, and Jasmine were all so welcoming! Wendell was a great and informative host, Xenia was so nice, and Jasmine was wonderful to chat with on our trips to and from the airport. I am really happy with this choice. It wasn't fancy, but it was an affordable home base for a trip to a very pricey island.

Wendell was an absolutely wonderful host! He really is an encyclopedia of knowledge about the island as so many others have said. The location is beautiful. You get a gorgeous view of the ocean from the property and nearby access to a beautiful beach that has some lovely reefs that you can enjoy while snorkeling. It’s also right on a bus line and there are a number of restaurants and beaches within walking distance. Keep in mind it is on a major road so you may need some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Overall it was a great experience.

This was a most enjoyable journey. The apt is quaint and small …. Was perfect for myself and my sister. Right on the bus line. Purchase a bus/ferry pass ! Is a must !!Wendell a most excellent host. Warm. Friendly. And the stories he can tell !!!! Worth your time to listen to him. Highly recommended.
