Lovely old pub, rooms spacious and comfortable. Shower was fab. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly, attentive and really helpful.
The breakfast was superb!
Slightly remote, so need a car.

Really great stay, comfortable room and lovely food.

We felt very welcome. The breakfast was amazing. Great choice, great quality with much locally sourced and bread baked on site. And so generous we didn't need to think about food until 4pm!
Warm, comfortable accommodation. We will return!
The room might be noisier in Summer when the courtyard is in use.....but great in February!

Large bedroom with good facilities. Food was good. Lovely separate dining room.
Signposting - unsure where to book in.
Dining - didn't receive our deserts. Finally offered them FOC but was too late so the coffees were given FOC.

Beautiful large room with kitchenette and en-suite, separate from the main pub. Lovely quiet spot.
Room was a little chilly and couldn’t get heating working, only air conditioning, which wasn’t required

Breakfast was lovely and substantial! The staff were very friendly. We are staying again the night before my daughters wedding in the summer and the staff were really helpful with planning the room allocation and arrangements for the grooms party

Friendly, well run hotel inn with great breakfast included. Accommodation in a well equipped cabin, nice decor and comfortable . Great restaurant at the inn.
A sticking lock on the cabin door made getting in tricky. Parking can get full in the evening.

Excellent guest experience. Very friendly and helpful staff, plentiful tasty breakfast and first rate dinner menu. Loved the size of the room and were pleasantly surprised that fresh milk was provided every day in the room fridge along with bottled water.

This was a last minute stay over New Year for 3 nights. It was such a lovely place. Huge room, very warm welcome, exceptional staff. Little touches such as home made shortbread, fresh milk made the Frocester excellent.
The heating was faulty but we were told this. Additional heating in the room was supplied. There really wasn’t anything to dislike!

Lovely Pub & Restaurant
Staff very friendly
Food good & Breakfast really good
Our room King STD Room court yard @ the back of the pub
Not so much road noise
However we were told on entering the room there was problems with the heating not working
If the pub knew this before we arrived we shouldn’t have been allocated this room
We were given 2 Electric heaters & extra blankets which was much better as it was a very cold night with a bad frost in the morning
We accepted this as we were only staying 1 night & didn’t want any confrontation
However straight away this shouldn’t have happened
So please make sure for future this doesn’t happen again

Stayed in the self catering cottage. Plenty of space, sitting area, roomy bedroom. Opted for hotel breakfast for extra cost, which was good.
The radiator valve in the bedroom was broken so the heating was on all night and as a result we had a dreadful too hot night. However the hotel gave us a room in the hotel for the second night with access to the cottage which made for a much better night. The cottage felt a bit tired - needs a hook or two for hanging clothes in the bathroom, and a kettle which switches off when boiling.

Stayed at The Frocester to attend a nearby family wedding. The room was large , clean and well equipped- loved the real milk in the fridge for tea / coffee.
Friendly , helpful staff who kindly gave us options for local taxis.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the food looked great and the restaurant was busy which is always good sign.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Excellent food and pleasant staff
Cold bedroom initially but moved to a warmer room in the main building.. the bar and dining room areas were both cold .. our second room did not have a smart tv and had no bedside charging points or usb ports which were in our first room .. second room was a little noisy from traffic first thing in the mornings .. having said that we did enjoy our stay

Location was fine.
Staff were good.
Good vfm.
Breakfast was good.
Our room (I think we had the worst one) was designed for people with restricted mobility (not applicable to ourselves) but it was difficult to see how they would have manoeuvred around such a small room.
There were two windows (both effectively skylights) neither blinds worked and one window was covered in cobwebs.
The heating was inadequate (fortunately it was not really cold the night we stayed).
The TV packed in on the morning we left.

Rooms were spotlessly clean. We had one of the courtyard doubles, room 15. And my mum and younger sibling had room 8, a huge twin room. The building itself is beautiful and very well kept. All staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was included and was lovely - great portions and fresh. All four of us said we'd return. Competitive pricing compared to othera in the area.
It's not that I didn't like it, but in room 15 I felt like the mattress could be due with an update or a heavy duty mattress topper. Maybe the mattress needs flipping and rotating? Didn't have the best night's sleep. Traffic noise very present for room 8 in the main building.

Characterful old inn with solid wooden staircase. Attractive, spacious restaurant serving an excellent Sunday roast.
Room 8 was huge with modern ensuite, 4 comfy chairs, a large bed.
We were happy with everything but maybe a checking in area rather than the bar for arriving guests could be added.

Breakfast was first class, with the food from local souce farms, the room was first class, the staff helpful nothing to small to help us even contacting a taxi for the four of us in the evening.
This is a hard question as I asked all how was it, all stated they enjoyed there stay and would go back again just for the food and room as it was first class.

Clean. Helpful staff. Good breakfast.
A little out of the way and a good 20-30 mins to Gloucester or Cheltenham. Easy to find though.

Breakfast was nicely cooked. We had the room Church View which had cooker etc which was really handy. Staff very friendly
No sharp knives to prepare food. Although dishwasher had to put on as only one amount of dishes per day. Heat in room not working efficiently

Friendly staff who were very helpful when there was an issue with the room and they found me another immediately. Excellent breakfast and felt like a home from home with warm helpful and professional staff.
The room I was moved to was lovely but it was extremely hot with radiators both on full and an extremely heavy duvet. Next time if I come I will ask in advance for this to be sorted- I am sure they would accommodate.

The restaurant and the food
The bar areas
Our room, it was small and cramped and the tea and coffee was in the wardrobe next to a wall with a table in front of it, you had to be a contortionist to get to it
9.0 / 10.0
Very comfortable, nice bedroom / bathroom, all staff were friendly & helpful. Excellent Sunday Roast (home - made stuffing was delicious), and breakfast with locally sourced produce. Some nice touches - proper milk in bedroom mini bar to go with teas / coffee; delicious home-made bread with cheese board, and breakfast toast, and lovely, light, home-made cheese biscuits, also with cheese board. Excellent value overnight accommodation.
Nothing - couldn't fault it.

We were on a day trip to visit Westonbirt forest and needed somewhere reasonably close to stay overnight. The Frocester was about 12 miles away on our way back towards the East Midlands. It was the perfect spot for us. It made our day out and weekend away really lovely. Friendly, warm and comfortable, clean, lovely spacious room, great food. Attention given to detail.
Nothing not to like.
