Le manège du silence

Het bijzondere achthoekige huis gelegen in een prachtige bloemrijke tuin, in het mooie Normandië (18 km van de kustplaats San-Valery-en-Caux. En last but not least de vriendelijke host. Het huis is goed uitgerust (o.m. met een heerlijk bad en een goed uitgeruste keuken).

We stayed in the wonderful octagonal house situated in the beautiful large garden of the owner, separate from the main house. The octagonal house used to be a horses' stable in the far past. We love to cook and the kitchen is ideal for this, with enough space for two people to be cooking at the same time, and every appliance you might need. The living room has a comfy couch, some chairs, a desk, and a cd-player with a nice cd collection. Upstairs below the slanting roofs, the comfortable beds and the bathroom are situated. The village Bénesville itself is small and quiet, but by car you have access to several beautiful coastal towns in 20 minute drives, e.g., Veules-les-Roses, St. Valéry-en-Caux, and Varangeville-sur-Mer. The owner pointed us to several beautiful sights, such as stained-glass windows by great artists. A bit father out, the cliffs of Etretat are spectacular; and a visit to Dieppe is also really nice. We also spent a very nice day in the city of Rouen. The countryside was really beautiful, with green hills and fields of flax and poppies. It was more rainy than usual in Normandy when we were there, but we still had a very nice holiday and got around to relaxing and reading some great books when the rain was too much to go out. All in all a wonderful holiday!
