Cedar House at The Old Fire Station

The property is very spacious and well appointed. We intended to stay here with our adult daughter and a friend of hers, but they ended up not traveling to Canterbury with us, so it was just two of us staying. This was the only property we stayed at during our three week trip that had a separate washer and dryer unit. It was an easy walk into the city center and we enjoyed the local pub, bakery and a walk through St. Dunstans.

We happened to be at the property during a heat wave. There is no A/C and the master bedroom is on the 2nd floor. As the windows are really doors, we didn't feel comfortable leaving them open at night to help cool off the place and there was no real way to create a cross breeze. Additionally, the washer is in an awkward spot in an outside alcove, with about a foot of clearance ands no light that I could see. I had to use my phone flashlight to transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer when I was doing laundry at night. To me, they would be more easily accessible as stacked units. WIth that said, having a washer and dryer was a plus!

No shower in upstairs ensuite just a bath which is ok for winter but a little inconvenient in summer

Nice private seating area outside. Lots of space in rooms. Kitchen very well stocked. Main bedroom very roomy with balcony, large wall mirrors and dressing table, sofa. Easy walking distance to Canterbury. Train and bus services very nearby to get to coast or London.

Parking for one car by house, but alleyway to it a bit tight, have to reverse out onto road,no space to turn car round but not a major issue.

Location suited the reason for our stay and it was nice and quiet being set back off a busy road. Hosts very attentive and addressed all minor issues immediately.

Minor issues all resolved immediately. No real complaints!
