A fabulous stay. We will definitely return

We stayed for 3 nights and ate in the restaurant each night. The food was fabulous and great value for money. Breakfast was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for places to visit in the local area. The room was spacious and very clean.

Exceptionally friendly welcome at a riverside pub with superb rooms and delicious food.

The avocado sourdough was - by far - the best I have ever eaten. The chef included seeds, olive oil, sundried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes and sprouted seeds. Superb. My partner said his full English was fantastic, too.

Was disappointed in the dinner we went on a Sunday and when fir a Pacific item on midweek menu didn't realise Sunday was different we had Sunday dinner here before and it was exceptional but this dinner was not pork belly was cooked terribly which was disappointing as the food is normally excellent here 😢

Beautiful, warm and welcoming hotel. Food fabulous and room of a very high standard. Linens, towels and toiletries excellent quality. Staff delightful and Trevor as welcoming as always. We stayed 2 nights and our room was cleaned and everything topped up and refreshed for our second night. Attention to detail was fantastic. Pre ordering breakfast was great and nothing ever felt like it was too much trouble.

The Northumberland is a gastro pub with lovely well equipped bedrooms. It is located by a river in a small village, close to the A1. We had dinner and breakfast, both of which were excellent.

The dinner menu was missing a couple of lighter options, particularly during this very hot weather.

It’s quite rural location but also well placed for visiting the area. Our room was very spacious with a beautiful bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.

Another blissful night away with all needs catered for

Our second stay and in a another lovely room with fabulous bathroom. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was once again the BEST ever, with our Vegan preferences catered for 100%. Dinner was fantastic too with a good selection of wines. We spent the sunny afternoon by the lazy river outside of the hotel.

Room at night was quite warm with it being unusually hot weather. There was a tower fan supplied but it was too loud for sleeping.

We were travelling to Scotland and needed to break the journey. The Northumberland Arms was very conveniently located, in a very quiet village, but close to the A1. The facilities were excellent; a lovely room, an excellent dinner and a very good breakfast. Outstanding!
