Lovely house, unfriendly owner!
The house looked fine from the outside, and the location was nice.
The host was incredibly rude and lacked any kind of humanity. We erroneously forgot to inform that we were coming with one additional person (4 total for a house that sleeps 6) and that we had an additional dog (2 instead of 1). However, we were not aware that only 1 dog was allowed (Booking.com please note this on the description so it's clear!!!). When we arrived the owner refused to let us stay in the house, not even with an additional fee, or even for just one night! There was no other accommodation in the area as it was a holiday weekend and everything was sold out. We were not able to use the house, but were still charged for the full weekend electricity and a full weekend for 1 dog. Ridiculous! If the owner had shown even a little bit of empathy for the situation, even though we were clearly in the wrong, it would have made all the difference. Such a shame that people like this are in the 'hospitality' industry!

Nice place but not really honest
The house is located in a beautiful area, very peaceful and furniture with everything you need.
Two days after the booking we received an email from an Agency representing the owner that was asking information about the reasons of our visit. We found it a strange request but we replied that we were 4 couples and that we were going to the Ardennes to celebrate the birthday of a friend. After a couple of days the agency asked us to cancel our reservation and they specified that the refund of the payment was not going to be made. Crazy! Even if I clearly specified that there was not going to be any party took me two days of calls and email to fix the issue. Luckily www.Boocking.com promptly support us. The day before the arrival I wrote an English email to the owner to ask instructions on the check-in. The owner replaed with one single sentence: "En français s'il vous plaît Merci". ok I understand that you don't speak English but you could at least try to be more polite especially considering that your advertisement is also in English!! and now the best When we arrived in the house the owner asked us to sign a paper where he was charging us some extra costs: 16€ for municipality taxes, 50€ for cleaning and 20€ for the bed sheet (total 86 €). We found it strange but we were no sure if this was already wrote in booking.com advertisement and we signed. When we checked NONE of those extra were specified in the advertisement. From other side it was specified that a POSSIBLE extra cost on electricity, water and gas could be added, and indeed at the check-in the owner make us sign a paper where the meter numbers of water and electricity where specified. When the owner left we search for the meters and we discovered that the signed numbers were not the correct(Ok our fault, we should have check it before). We took a photo of the meters and we showed the correct values to him at the check-out.

De boeking via Booking.com. Zowel ikzelf als m’n partner hebben een bericht meerdere keren achtergelaten via Booking.com, maar deze berichten zijn nooit bij de eigenaar geraakt. Wij waren met twee + 1 hond, maar de eigenaar had zes personen doorgekregen en 0 honden.
