Sopron Monastery Hotel

We love the peace and beauty of the Monestary. Having half board is so wonderful and we LOVE the espresso coffee machine at Breakfast.

The bed was a little bit hard.

Very nice and a true feeling of such a place. Very good food and very nice staff. Inside is barrier free, to exit there are only three small steps (with staff assistance)… But not great to visit Sopron (too far out), but a perfect location for contemplation 😎😎😎

Quite remote location

This is a unique experience. The hotel retains a monastic feel but was renovated very thoughtfully. Details like ceilings, floors and furniture highlight the nature of the buildings beautifully. The grounds are peaceful. The restaurant space is lovely and both breakfast and dinner were very tasty. Do not expect air conditioning or television, but do take the audiotour to find out about the history of the building. Our room was huge with a good bathroom. We were lucky enough to be there for the "White Night" event (June 27th in 2026), which was a delightful evening event with drinks, food and music. We were there during a heatwave and the staff managed to find a fan for us. Having said that, the proximity of the monastery to the forest and its thick stone walls means it's naturally cooler than most places. We caught the number 10 bus from the station and to the town... about a 15 minute easy trip. Great value for money.

Everything was great... just remember there is no air conditioning in summer.
