Nana's Cottage 3 miles from downtown, pet friendly

I recently visited Asheville with my teenagers and Nana's Cottage was the perfect location. We were 5 minutes from downtown Asheville, 20 minutes from the Biltmore, and had easy access to all sorts of outdoor activities. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Thank you for a fantastic trip!

The house was clean and had everything we needed. The fenced in yard was great for our pups. Overall great visit.

Cottage was very clean, cozy and convenient to areas we visited. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in backyard.

We enjoyed our stay! Very comfortable and we were welcomed with Oreo brownies. Good communication from the owners and they were responsive to our needs. Convenient location and just a short Uber to downtown.

Very comfortable home. Loved the fresh homemade bread that Marilyn left for us. Great yard and space. We will keep Nana's Cottage in mind for any future stays in Asheville. Very convenient for us!

This house was perfect for my dog and I. It was well stocked with necessities. It was very clean. The fenced in yard was perfect. The bed was super comfortable. The owners are lovely. It’s 5 minutes to the center of downtown Asheville. I would absolutely recommend this house!

Really enjoyed our stay at Nana’s Cottage. The home is neat as a pin, cozy, clean and has everything you need. Comfy beds. Appreciated the large fenced yard for our pups. Very good communication with host, and the fresh pumpkin bread upon arrival.. amazing. Within ~7 min drive into Asheville. Good central location.

House just as described, cute, clean, well kept, comfortable, everything provided. But area was not to our likeing, yard a little difficult for two old women.

This cottage is comfortable and nicely appointed. The street itself is eclectic but a short drive to downtown etc. great backyard but if you need to walk your dog it’s a bit challenging.

We love the Asheville area and the location of the property is very accessible to downtown and other attractions. There is not a lot to offer in walking distance of the house, but everything else is a short drive or ride share.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Nana's Cottage! The house was very clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The freshly baked loaf of bread that was waiting for us when we arrived was a sweet and thoughtful touch. The yard and house were also perfect, and well-equipped, for our dog. We experienced a small issue while we were there and contacted the owners, who addressed it right away. We would absolutely reccomend this house and would stay again!

This house was perfect for my week long stay with my husband and dog. I've stayed at numerous VRBOs in Asheville and this is by far the cleanest. The appliances are nice, heat worked great and everything was comfortable. I have no complaints. I really appreciated the communication with the owners who live in the area (and the yummy homemade bread) and are available if you need anything. The house is close to the river district greenway which has a nice path to walk the dog and a dog park.

The home was easy to find and conveniently located near Asheville’s main attractions. The house is updated with comfortable furniture, newer appliances and a renovated bathroom. The fenced yard is great for dogs with no gaps for small ones to get out.

Nice place that met our needs for a two night stay in Asheville. Close to downtown Asheville and lots of great trails for hiking. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. Owner was very responsive to any questions and allowed us to check in early.

Would definitely stay here again, only suggestion would be a mirror in second bedroom.

We loved staying in Nana's Cottage! The yard was big, private and secure for our dogs. The home is cool, clean and nicely decorated. Beer, coffee, and brownies were surprisingly included. Very close drive to downtown.

Was very clean, convenient and perfect for small pets, felt very safe for them in fenced back yard. 6 minute drive to rivers arts, walking trails and food/beverage scene.

This is a good place if you are traveling with dogs.

We were super excited to spend a week away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives as medical professionals. Just prior to our departure, we read a not so rave review on the location of the cottage. Having reached out, Del and Marilyn responded immediately and addressed the previous guests concern (without contempt or malice I will add). Here's the thing, the Cottage is on Brickyard (ask Del about the history of the Biltmores using the mountain clay for bricks to build the facility and the subsequent flood which dessimated the location -- super interesting!). At times, it seems like it's the Brickyard 500 with cars attempting to reach a land speed record after they turn onto the road. We backed into the driveway to be able to see the occassional speed racer. But it's rare, and certainly no fault of the owners. The dogs across the road (German Shepherd and 2 great Danes) are not a deterrant what so ever. We took our dog (a Frenchie). There was never a concern for his or our safety and we enjoyed daily conversation with their Dog "Mom". She is very considerate of your stay. Yes, there is a tire store at the intersection of the turn to get to Brickyard. Don't let it fool you into thinking you've made a wrong turn and "oh boy there went the vacation". The house has a truly wonderful backyard and outdoor porch deck. It's fenced, safe and the trees are beautiful. No firepit unfortunately, but it wasn't a deal breaker. We felt immediately at home. A very well equipped kitchen with all the items necessary to cook at home or store the left overs from any of the numerous restaurants. There is a coffee pot, not a keurig (for you Keurig oficionados). Laundry room with great full size washer and dryer. Both the beds sleep wonderfully with great mattress and pillows. The TV has Roku. You won't miss cable, it has so many options if you are going to sit on the couch and miss out on the features of the area ;-). Be prepared to meet Del or Marilyn with a delicious, hot out of the oven loaf of bread!! Yum. Dog owner?? This is a great location. Worried about walking the street with your pupper? Forget the street and take a 5 minute ride to nearby Richmond Hill Park with 5 miles of dog friendly, easy trail walks through a well maintained canopied forest. We would definitely recommend. And if you forget a drawer or clothing (uh hummm wifey), you'll get it expressed mailed! Have a great experience, we loved ours!

Cottage was clean and we felt safe. Owners stopped in when we first arrived to welcome us with homemade bread.

We have traveled all over the US and rate this property the best overall experience we have had.

could not have asked for a nicer or cleaner cottage filled with most everything needed. Communication with host was excellent. Location for what we wanted was great but the neighborhood was a little suspect.

Although the inside of the home was as accurate as the pictures show, the outside and surrounding area was a different story, and I want others to be aware of a few things going on. We had originally booked our stay for 6 nights and wound up leaving after 2. Pros: There were zero issues with the inside of the home. It was clean and comfortable. The fenced in yard was perfect for two dogs. Check in was a breeze. Owner brought over a fresh baked loaf of bread which was delicious and very sweet of him. Cons: The street is SUPER busy, cars racing up and down at all hours. Apparently there is a school up the end of the road so there were a lot of busses going by. Absolutely not a place to walk your dog. The "neighborhood" itself is an extremely run down area of town. Our major complaint was the neighbors across the street. People/cars in and out all day and night, loud and hanging out on the front porch til late at night. Cars parked where we were supposed to be parking. When the owner brought the bread over, we did mention about the situation across the street and he remarked that they were having a wedding that weekend (this was a Friday), so there were extra people around. But the worst part of all of this was that they have three or four HUGE dogs that barked non-stop (which got our dogs barking non-stop), day and night, as the front yard is fenced and that's where the dogs are let out. These dogs ran and lunged up the fence whenever we left the home to go to our car, and especially when we took our own dogs out the front door to walk them to the car. I literally thought they would jump the fence. We started bringing them to the car through the back gate. Also, very early one morning while letting the dogs out, we noticed that the building next door seemed to be some sort of company where workers gathered early in the morning to start their jobs. All of this made for a stressful situation just being at the home, which is no way to spend a vacation. Because of that, we decided that it would be best to leave, as we were not at all relaxed. There were no issues with the owner. Of course a home is going to be listed on here with all the positives highlighted, but I just want people to also know the negatives of the surrounding area.

We were very comfortable at this cute updated house. It had everything we needed. The host was great and even sent her husband by with Banana bread on our second day. The backyard was great for our dogs. It was fully fenced and we enjoyed the deck.

This is a great place to rent especially if you have a pet. Our dog loved the back yard. He didn't get to spend too much time in it because we were always on the go with him. It was very clean and had all the ammenities we needed. It was close to all the activities and restaurants that we went to. The pictures were accurate and the walk in closet in the master was awesome. It gave us space to put our luggage without having to trip over it. The porch was nice to sit and read, drink coffee, or smoke a cigar. We would definitely rent again

The vacation rental was great! Perfect for anyone traveling with their fur babies. A great location.
