great location, hot water runs fine
rude property manager who told us to do jumping jacks when we asked for the heating to be turned on. not enough toilet paper, everything was dusty and all the cutlery and dishes were dirty. it was cold and stormy and the heater only was on sometimes and on the weakest setting and we had no control over it. numerous bugs crawling around, carpet stripped from the floors making it even colder. it smells somewhat mouldy. no wifi despite it being part of the facilities, similar can be said regarding the heating since it didn't really work, though the property manager provided us with a dirty space heater he found in an abandoned room.
only cookware available was a cake tin. nothing else despite there being a hob and an oven, which was also dirty.
price was enormous for what we got.

Great location especially for the airport in Glasgow, beautiful house and the host Kevin was absolutely great.
We have arrived around 9pm and when we arrived heating was on but unfortunately after 10pm heating went off and during the night it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING COLD.

The owner was attentive and helpful.
Room is the bare minimum. Beds uncomfortable. Living room TV doesn't work and is incredibly small. No towels in the room until we asked. Bathroom door lock doesn't work. Bathroom floor was filthy and we had to clean it.

A beautiful old house packed with antiques . Our room had an amazing ceiling and fireplace ( not for use, just to look at).
Big garden all around the house.
Kevin is a very nice and helpfull guy.

Hadn't been sent the key code to get in and then took several phone calls to get into the property. the whole place was worn out, not really fit for purpose. Pots on the draining board of the kitchen, Mouldy bathroom yellow old duvets, stained carpets. Certainly not worth the cost.
Only stayed the one night of two as this certainly wasn't appropriate for my 13 year old son to sleep in. He slept on the sofa as his bed downstairs wasn't fit for purpose.
Had to find and pay for alternative accommodation for our second night. making it rather an expensive weekend.
Never had to leave a negative feedback for something before.
Will seek refund.

host was absolutely incredible and provided tea and coffee facilities upon request. super friendly. the apartment was also very nice and the area was lovely, a Sainsbury's local was only a 10 minute walk away. the host came down as soon as I pressed the bell for him which was great as we were having a few issues getting into the room. the room has hot water and a bath which, given we had just come back from the west highland way was a luxury.
there was a screw sticking out of one of the beds and it ended up ripping my trousers. it would be nice og that screw could be covered with something like a rubber cover. it could have had a few more facilities in the kitchen too, a toaster or more pans would have been amazing. this might just be me being fussy though

Old building impressive from outside. Room was large. Parking available on drive at £10 per day.
Needs a good clean and lick of paint. Bathroom and kitchen area not clean. No towels in room. Called numbers on info sheet - one for an ex employee who was the most helpful and one for a housekeeper which went to voicemail. Missing lightbulb. Dirty rag left on fridge and bin not emptied. The bed is a disgrace. Unbelievably creaky, bits of wood nailed in, presumably as a cheap attempt at a fix. Screw coming loose from headboard. Two measly pillows. The place has a halfway house vibe and there was even a prison plimsoll under the sofa.

Its historic legacy, its location in the elegant west end. I liked the administrator’s care and personal attention. Kevin was a most welcoming host.
Its age makes it attractive, but it also shows its age as the building needs to be modernized, which would be an enormous expense.

Fridge, cooker and TV were broken. Had planned to cook but not possible at all. Could not store food in the fridge. This the stay was much more expensive than planned. There is no actual shower. Or Lounge. Just 2 chairs positioned in the kitchen/diner so no place to relax. Only 2 chairs for potentially 6 people.

Fabulous house in lovely quiet neighbourhood full of sandstone mansions, but just a short walk from the shopping on Hyndland Road. Converted into 11 apartments some time ago there was a distinct feel of yesteryear. Wonderfully helpful, Kevin welcomed me and assisted me to my very spacious studio room, where I found not just a bed, a shower room and a kettle, but also microwave, hob, fridge (with ice compartment), worktops, sink... and dining table, chairs, sofa, wardrobe, coffee tables, chest of drawers, bedside table and large TV!
As I am elderly, I would have appreciated a handrail on the stairs to the lower ground floor.

Grand old property, excellent location. Only thing clean was the beds.
In need of a lot of investment to update. Flat was very grubby, carpets awful, furniture very old, sockets not working, smallest TV ever not working, microwave not working, very limited kitchen utensils dirty & grubby.

Garden house: Contact person was super friendly and supportive. The garden house is spacious, beds were clean and easy to travel to city center by bus or train.
The dishes and cooking equipment were sufficient but a bit limited.
Some of the furnitures (e.g. shelves) were broken, so overall condition of the garden house is OK but could need some maintenance. After that, the garden house would easily get a 9 or 10.

The location was close to where we needed to be and there is a little cafe up the road called Cuku which has really great organic food/ coffee
We checked out early because I felt incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe. I had my 2 young children with me. The property appears to operate more like an asylum or care facility than a hotel. On my night of arrival a young woman and her baby were leaving and the host wasn’t particularly kind to this woman. I asked if I could have more pillows and she went into the woman’s room who was leaving, and gave me her cushions, not clean ones. The second night, two men answered the door to me with what appeared to be tags on their ankles and they asked if I was “moving in”.
In addition to this, my shower had long black hairs in it, the floor was visually dirty and the fridge was full of water. It’s hard to put into words really and I didn’t think to take any pictures, but I wouldn’t recommend staying there. Especially if you have young children or you’re hoping for a clean space to go back to after a long day out. I informed the owner of my concerns and she simply replied “ok”.
In my view, the listing on Booking.com is incredibly misleading, as it does not accurately reflect the nature of the accommodation. Clearer advertising would help set appropriate expectations for future guests.

Beds were clean, the property was lovely good access
Floors and kitchen were not the cleanest, the tub surround was falling off and not sealed, the hostess was lovely but seemed confused by our arrival and another resident took us to the office as we could not get in. The tv was not working and another guest??? Came in to assist the hostess and Offered to lend us a tv.
Although the home was once very lovely it is very worn and in need of repair.

I had a lovely stay in the beautiful West End. The home and my room are absolutely gorgeous, and I loved the neighborhood because it was quiet but easily walkable to lots of great shops and restaurants. The owner was charming and very available if I had any questions. I also found the rate very reasonable and will definitely be staying in this lovely home again full of old-world charm. I couldn't have asked for much more.

Carpet not clean, some sockets not working missing light bulbs, lack of cooking utensils curtains next to oven, no washing up bowl or plug, lack of towels, no opening windows

Quiet and safe neighborhood. The house is of Victorian style and there’s a fireplace, much better looking than the photos online. The room is spacious. We can open two big suitcases at the same time. The refrigerator, microwave oven and gas stove work well, convenient for making quick breakfast in the room.
The window blinds and one of the mattresses can be better.

Poorly maintained abd laid out room with some sticking doors and windows.

Pet friendly with no additional fee, our room located in the basement and there is a corridor straight to the car park which is good. The room is neat and tidy with everything we needed, hot water and heater is excellent, well drained, the fridge and microwave works well. Elizabeth is very friendly and helpful, and even bringing us visit all around the entire house, it was full of antique, the grand piano is my favourite spot for sure. It’s so enjoyable to listen to Elizabeth talking about stories of the building, just like a tour in the museum! we’ll definitely come back again.
The only downside is the tube of the shower is a bit short, I can’t stand up during a bath, however it’s a minor issue

Only good thing about this property was the location for the West end.
Property was old, dirty, out of date and unacceptable to sleep in and shower. Sheets were dirty, towels dirty, carpets stained and dirty. Food remnants on the table, toilet didn't flush sufficiently.

Great site close to the West End with off street parking. The two on-site staff were very helpful and a bit apologetic about the faults in our room.
The house and room were very tired and worn internally. We had mice in the room at night and the kitchen had very old and broken fittings and inferior utensils. The whole of this grand old home has been very cheaply converted and maintained - the first room we were offered on arrival was in the basement and smelled very strongly of damp so we refused to stay there. By comparison the alternative room we got seemed OK but, after only one night, all of the above faults became apparent. The en suite bathroom was tiny and also had badly maintained fittings.
If we hadn't already paid in full, we would have moved on after the first night.

Nothing, door key would not work, so had to wait 20 minutes outside.
cant describe fully how bad this hotel was. The overall state of the rooms, outside, facilities were atrocious. If you are unlucky enough to have to stay here make sure you have all your jabs.
Worst stay I have ever had, please please don't stay here. Don't usually leave review, but felt on this occasion I had to.
Blood on outside wall of entrance, Roof was covered with bricks and patched repairs, which meant the walls and ceiling had damp pouring in.
Front door didn't have blinds on, and bed was directly opposite the door. Hand rail leading down was lose, and a accident waiting to happen, no lighting to outside area.
Front door key didn't work and lock was broken, had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come only to say looks like the lock is damaged.
They did move me to another room, but just as bad.
If you do have to stay here, make sure you are up to date with all your jabs. !!
Overall this has to be the worst hotel I have probably ever seen yet alone stayed in.

Wrong price

I didn't stay at this property as they advertised the incorrect price and contacted me to advise this. Letting me know the room is still available for a different price because they made a mistake on the website. The person was rather rude who did contact me, quite a matter of fact that the price was obviously wrong. They said they would sent a refund but I can't seem to find it. I have contacted the today and will wait for a reply. If it was indeed refunded and I have missed it I will happily amend this review.
