Misleading Room Information, Poor Check-in Experience — but Great Spa and Friendly Morning Staff

The spa area is really nice.

I booked this hotel believing my room would be in the annex building, and even canceled a main-building double room to choose a triple specifically for that reason. On arrival, I was told the room was actually in the main building and that annex rooms were fully booked, with the receptionist saying I should have called to confirm. The communication was poor, there was no apology for the confusion, no gesture of goodwill, and no explanation of the hotel facilities. The attitude felt very unwelcoming — basically “take it or leave it.” That said, the morning reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and the spa is excellent. Lesson learned: call ahead to confirm room location.

great hotel in a fantastic mountain region, ideal for motor bikers.

we had a small issue with a room not having twin beds, but this was quickly resolved as the host put a single bed in the room so two of our male friends did not have to share a bed. the food we had at the evening meal was very good, as was the service we received, the staff were very friendly and helpful. my girlfriend and I, had a nice comfy bed, great shower and modern bathroom. a great breakfast was provided and we had plenty to choose from. I stayed with 5 friends and all agreed it was a very nice hotel. there was plenty of room at the side of the buildings to park our motorbikes.

the front room we were in, was facing the main road through the town and there seemed to be a lot of traffic coming through, even late at night, and due to the heat, we had to leave a window slightly open & due to this we had a lot of traffic noise waking up us

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings

The hotel is situated in a beautiful area. We were upgraded to rooms in the annex which were large and with terrace. We spent some time in pool, sauna and hot tub which was great (pool a little cold for me but fine for the kids). Breakfast and dinner were great.

WiFi in the annex was minimal, so I did some work from the main hotel (where it was good).

Packages include excellent and delicious breakfast and dinner. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Free parking in a scenic location with a creek flowing through the grounds. Pool and sauna are available and we would like to return.

A restful and comfortable stay in a quiet and picturesque location

Our meal was included in the price and was excellent. Staff in the restaurant were very pleasant. The room was very comfortable, Breakfast was very good and we especially enjoyed the freshly-made coffee delivered to our table, rather than the awful self-service machines which do not provide proper cafe au lait.

There was no choice as regards to meal provided as part of the price but luckily we liked what we were given.

Mountain bliss

What is not to like! Our room looked out over the garden with a river running through it with a forest and mountains further on. It was originally a post house where travellers could stay waiting for the pass to clear. We had our meal next to an open window. Very good food. Bliss. Our room had a wet room suitable for disabled guests.very good. The food was very good and packed!

Definitely take a garden room as the hotel is right on the road with very big lorries passing through. We did not hear a thing.

Beautiful garden terrace beside a babbing brook where one can relax and enjoy a late afternoon beer. Loved the sound of the babbling brook in our bedroom when drifting off to sleep at night. Fantastic meals prepared by a gourmand chef. Absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff. Awesome location situated high in a quiet valley of the Vosge.

perfect location for hiking, the natural wellness center is amazing with spring water river crossing the property, the restaurant proposed delicious local foods & drinks, and there is plenty free parking space
