Het ruime appartement met balkon-met-uitzicht kwam bij binnenkomst helemaal overeen met wat vooraf werd beloofd. Al gauw bleek het balkon te lawaaiig om te kunnen genieten van het uitzicht. We hadden pech: de afvoer in de badkamer liep over. Dat werd snel en net veel excuses opgelost. Vervolgens bleek het gasfornuis onklaar en levensgevaarlijk. Bij het ontsteken volgde een ontploffing en de vlammen kwamen onder de pit vandaan. Dat kon natuurlijk niet snel worden opgelost. Het advies om de maaltijd dan op één electrische pit te koken leek ons niet veilig èn ondoenlijk. Zo konden we geen gebruik maken van de verder goed geoutilleerde keuken. Gelukkig waren de bedden prima.

Hoewel de eigenaar en de tussenpersoon excuses aanboden, bleef het daarbij. Dat geeft, als je als huurder op één avond zo veel problemen met een appartement ervaart, geen prettig gevoel. Met name het gevaarlijke fornuis was een domper. Dat afdoen met 'de pitten zijn er door de schoonmaker niet goed opgezet' komt niet tegemoet aan de schrik die het heeft veroorzaakt. Bovendien betwijfelen wij dat dat de oorzaak was.

We liked that it was close to the airport and that the hosts were very good about communicating and were there to great us when we arrived. Also, nicely helped us with our bags to the top floor. It was exactly what we needed.

The noise from the highway and that the supermarket had already closed when we arrived, but obviously that's not anyone else's fault. It was our own poor planning.

There’s constant noise from the very trafficked road right next to the apartment. In the apartment there are the basic cutlery, but nothing else. You have to bring your own basics such as salt and pepper. We believed we had booked the apartment with a jacuzzi, since that picture was on the specific booking site. But it wasn’t that apartment. So be extra aware if you’re wanting to book that specific apartment. The beach is quite a long walk away - especially with kids.
