Holiday Home in Le Châtelet with Pool

À notre arrivée nous étions accueillis par des propriétaires qui habitent sur la même propriété et juste à côté de la maison que nous avons loué. Un couple d’hollandais très sympathique qui a pris le temps de nous monter la maison et tout expliquer (un peu en français un peu en anglais). Notamment que la télé ne marchait pas, que l’électricité coutait 10€ par jour. Ce qui nous a coûté 60€ supplémentaires pour 5 jours- pas de négociation si vous quittez le logement une journée plutôt. Il est indiqué dans l’annonce que les frais supplémentaires sont à régler sur place mais le montant n’est pas précisé! Pourtant la maison est grande,propre et fonctionnelle! Elle est très bien équipée - on se sent comme chez soi! Il manquait juste le micro-ondes. Deux adorables chats viennent jouer à la maison:))

Le Wi-Fi ne capte pas bien et coupe tout le temps! La télé ne marchait pas pendant la majorité de notre séjour - elle était réparé plus tard. Le montant de l’électricité n’est pas indiqué dans l’annonce! ( c’est 10€/j)

The owners whilst they live opposite the gite stayed out of the way and were very respectful. They welcomed us and showed us around upon arrival and left wine and chocolates for us. The facilities were brilliant with plenty of land to explore. Very clean and well thought out with just about everything a family could need for 2 weeks stay. Little extras such as coffee, dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, toilet rolls and soap were appreciated. The pool was clean and nice to cool off in. Bruno the dog was friendly and came to say hi everyday. Overall we are very pleased with our first holiday with a baby in tow and would definitely recommend this to anyone. We may even rebook in the future as we loved rural France and what it had to offer. Finally a massive thank you to the owners for their hospitality and the thoughtful gift for the baby on our last evening.

No air conditioning but there were fans. The Cher region was having a Orange weather warning while we were there with temperatures of 39c but this would probably be more comfortable under normal weather conditions.

walking distance to the village. no need to use the car. friendly owners. Lovely pool.
