Number 1 Admiralty Cottages

Very thoughtful arrival package. But more than that. Every time I thought that I didn't have something, I just opened a cupboard and it was there. Every utensil you could think of was there; tea towels, toilet rolls, cleaning products and even tea & coffee. The owners were extremely helpful and nice any time you needed them. The bed mattresses were proper ones, not those cheap soft memory foam mattresses, that give you back ache with no support. This property is handy for cycling into Portsmouth via the ferry, and walking if you have the fitness.

However, although, we liked the mattresses, they perhaps needed renewing, as you could feel the springs through them, and they were getting a bit too soft. They were fine for 4 nights, but any longer, maybe not so. Also, some net curtains in the bedroom would have been nice, either half or full ones, as the only option during daylight hours, was to have the curtains completely shut for privacy, which made the bedroom very bleak with the black out curtains which were there. Also, some coat hooks would have been handy near the entrance for our wet coats, as nowhere to hang them at all other than over the backs of the dining room chairs.

Great location, walking distance to the beach, local town and ferry to Portsmouth. Lovely hamper on arrival, cottage has everything you need. Very clean and tastefully furnished.

Only that we couldn't stay longer.
