Ocean Breeze

An older house but nicely decorated with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a good shower, a well-equipped kitchen, veranda with BBQ and laundry, plus a small garden with a second toilet outside. Everything we needed was provided and the host was very responsive. The property is dog friendly (1 pet). The location is close to the old Maritime Museum and 5 min walk to the restaurants and shops, 10 min to the beach and jetty where you can hire boats, kayaks and book cruises.

We appreciated that linen and towels were provided but usually it is AUD30 per person extra. You can bring your own linen. A AUD500 deposit is also required which will be refunded after your stay, provided nothing was damaged, beds weren’t used without linen and only the booked number of people stayed at the property. The latter is just FYI, not a criticism.

Beautiful, generally clean cottage with all necessary facilities (including baby cot and high-chair). Great location within walking distance of the town.

- There is a mandatory 500 AUD security deposit which took about a month to be refunded, only after seeking contact with booking.com. - Communication was a bit inconsistent: during our stay it was good, but before and after our stay questions sometimes seemed to be ignored or only answered after more than a week. - The vacuum cleaner did not work, even though there were very detailed check-out instructions specifically requesting that the house should be vacuumed. The owner mentioned it was replaced after our stay, but older reviews had already reported similar issues. - The high-chair for our baby wasn't clean and was covered in sand.

A very beautiful and cozy house, perfectly equipped and spotless. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
