About this house rental
Townhouse a short walk (only2 blocks)to the beach.1400 square feet , perfect for a family up to 7 ! Great couples getaway . The 3 bedrooms and sofa bed in living room along with 3 full baths make it very convenient. Rare enclosed garage and a backyard fenced for privacy are unique features for this townhouse . TV's in living room and 3 bedrooms . Wireless internet.New washer and dryer . Dining table for 4 but additional 4 chairs at granite counter . Fully equipped kitchen including coffee maker and microwave. Beach umbrella and 6 chairs are stored in garage (please return there after using ). Four bicycles are available , use at your own risk. Outside shower . We fill gas grill at beginning of season , Blue rhino refills available at Food Li
on ,etc. Midway between the Carolina Beach Boardwalk and Kure Beach Pier , this is a great spot for an easy trip to see all that Pleasure Island has to offer . We enjoy kayaking the Cape Fear River from Carolina Beach State Park (make reservations ahead of time on line to insure kayak availability ). The Aquarium at Kure Beach is well worth the visit. A favorite day trip is taking the ferry from Fort Fisher to Southport , shopping and having lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants. The Wilmington Riverwalk is only a 30 minute drive and has shopping ,restaurants and a nearby train museum kids will enjoy. When at the beach, It is not a long walk to grab a drink at the Tiki Bar you will see in the distance. For those looking for extended stays please put in your days and look at the monthly discount !

Pros: The house was in a great location just a short walk from the beach and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. There was plenty of beach equipment in the garage for guests to use and the kitchen was well-stocked with the essentials. We appreciated that our host was flexible with early check-in and allowed us to leave the car in the garage and use the outdoor shower after coming back from the beach on our last day before heading out.
Cons: The listing originally said there was a hot tub on the property (has since been deleted) which we were looking forward to using since we were there during Tropical Storm Debby and had limited windows where we could go to the beach, so were disappointed to find out that was incorrect. The mattress in the bedroom on the main floor had a giant sag in the middle, so the person in that room ended up sleeping on the couch instead. This was very frustrating since we intentionally booked a place with enough beds for everyone to have their own space. On our last day we were asked to strip the sheets from the beds. We didn't mind doing this, but when we did so we saw the mattress pads and pillows were stained and one of the mattress pads in the upstairs bedroom had what looked to be a giant urine stain in the middle of it. Pretty gross to see that after sleeping on those beds the past several days.
