Relaxing accommodation directly at the crystal clear lake

The location at the end of a dead end road right at the lake is just great. No busy street in front of you and private parking right next to the house. The hosts were really nice and welcoming, offering drinks and caring for everything you need. We stayed only 3 nights and even got fresh towels and cleaned garbage. The garden in front of the hous is just a little paradise with all its green and fruits. The figs we got fresh from the tree were so tasty! You have sunbeds (and even in the shadow of some trees) right in front of the garden at the edge if the lake. The water is clear and it's a very good area for swimming. You can reach different shops and restaurants within 5 mins of walking - we especially recommend the restaurant Galeo. Thanks for the relaxing time, Daniel and Alexandra, we will be thinking of you enjoying some drinks! ;-)

The bathroom in our apartment was a bit small, especially the hot water tank in the shower makes showering for tall people a bit uncomfortable.

Winning combination of privacy and next to the lake location

There are only few locations at Ohrid lake that offer direct beach access and private accomodation. Appartments are either accross the busy road in locations, which are not peaceful or in the outdated hotels. Here you get private and peaceful accomodation right on the beach (the walkway to the hotel is not disturbing at all)with private sunbeds. Add hospitality of the hosts, and its a highly recommended winning choice. The place is at the walkway, a few hunderds meters of good restaurants and shops. Private parking at the accomodation is priceless during the touristic season. Sunbeds and tables (in the garden and on the private beach) are very convenient. Restaurant Galeo is highly recommended (mixed grill for example).

Not really a big problem. But for the convenience of the future guests: It would be nice to provide more detailed info how to come to the place by car. Google map directs you wrong way - to the nearby hotel Desaret and its parking uphill from the coast. There seems to be a tiny dirt road to the beach from there, but it is an awkward dead end. So if you come to the hotel (there is a Holy Trinity chapel accross the road), you are too far. From Ohrid you should drive through the whole village of Peshtani and when after the restaurant Galeo the road towards Naum turns left uphill, you should not follow it. Just when the road deviates from the coast to the left (there is a house with the gate with a sign "do not park in front - police station" blocking the staight direction), you should go right and immediately left to Turisticka road. This is a pedestrian walkway along the coast towards the hotel Desaret. But you can drive to the private parking at the accomodation (which is priceless). Please note that there is no breakfast offered (not a problem for us - nice restaurants and shops near by) and that the furniture in the room is rather modest. There is a tempting option to visit the restaurant Bane 2. They come for you with a private boat and bring you to the restaurant at a nice beach where you can combine dining and swimming. However, we do not recommend this place. We were not offered any menu with prices and all but the most expensive fish (it was supposed to be Ohrid trout, but it seemed to us as rainbow trout from fisheries) was available, although it was promissed to offer belvica - much cheaper and more interesting fish. We trusted the owner of the restaurant and we thought it was rude to ask about the price. Mistake. We end up with the bill of 90 EUR for 1,2 kg fish and a bottle of wine. Way to much for Macedonia. This was not honest, which is not expected in Macedonia.
