We have stayed in French holiday houses multiple times in the previous summer holidays, from old to new. This house is in our personal Top 3. We were looking for a quiet, safe and modern house to explore the city of Saumur and surrounding wine area. We stayed in August 2020 with 4 adults and and two kids and loved it. First of all, Nathalie is a great host who helped with all our question before and during our stay. She responds very quick to make sure you can relax and enjoy the holiday. What we specially liked about the house: It’s secured with an electric gate (!) can easily fit two cars. It’s a very quiet area, few surrounding houses with no barking dogs at night. The next door field outside the gate also belongs to the house. The dinner/bbq area has a large table, 4 sitting chairs, 4 (foot) stools and two lounge chairs. The garden and terrace are spacious and have areas of sun and shade, all day. Good for morning coffees and croissants, bbq’s, garden games, outside lightning for evening drinks and games. It also has a shed for storing bikes (with lock) There is an outside water tap for filling up water game equipment/bottles. 1st floor. Two bedrooms, one double bed one with two single beds. You share the big bathroom with shower in bath on first floor, separate toilet. Large closets to store items for two weeks. There are good working fans in both rooms. The 2nd floor bedroom with double bed has its own stand alone shower and toilet, incl a portable airco unit. All beds are comfortable, good sizes and have clean mattresses. All windows in the house have electric shutters for a safe and cool stay. The kitchen is modern incl all essential cooking materials. And the really powerful small oven we used every day for baking off our lunch bread and croissants. We did not use the indoor seating part of the house a lot but its all brand new and comfortable for 6 adults. The Wifi is free.

If anything, the freezer could be a bit bigger. The combination of hot temperatures, kids and adult fans of ice (cream) fills it up quickly. But we managed well.
