Unique Character/Architecture/ Decor and immense sense of history. Patron is entertainingly quirky.
Rooms are not air conditioned and in heat of high summer opening window onto the street can be noisy ( or perhaps this was World Cup fans returning from bars after late kick offs )

Historica building a minute from the cathedral, beautifully renovated, with spacious rooms and comfortable common areas. The owner/host was most helpful and welcoming: he sacrificed his own parking place so we could park our large car near the hotel; he gave us a fascinating insight into the history of the building, which was once owned by alchemosts and still attracts modern day enthusiasts; and he was very informative about the best things to do in Le Puy.
Access is a bit tricky, and parking is not easy for larger cars.
