Hotel Villas Colibrí Suites & Bungalows

I've stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. The location is far enough from the loud tourist zone, what's gives this place an extremely perfect taste of local living. Peaceful and quiet garden-style property makes me feel home. The locked gate gives a sense of security. The rooms are clean and chill. The stuff is nice and friendly. Close to local restaurants and shops. Well maintained rooms and entire property made my vacation complet. Extremely recommended to those in need of fresh air in their lives.

A really great place to stay, only had time for one night due to work commitments, but the villa was very clean, well furnished, the beds were very comfortable, the pool area was nice and the hotel staff were friendly. The location is good, its around a 20 minute walk from the Ferry terminal but a taxi is only 100 MXN and could be there in 5 minutes.

We appreciated the location because it was a bit further away from the touristic centre of Cozumel. We loved that we had a few really good tacos restaurants at walking distance from the hotel, that seemed to be popular with the locals as well, and a café just across the street where we had breakfast a couple of times. We were not out late at night, not later than 9pm, but as 2 women, we always felt safe in the area and in general in Cozumel as a whole. Our suite was very clean and well taken care of. The staff was so lovely, friendly, responsive and helpful. We appreciated that the A/C worked really well, keeping the place nice and cool. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were kept very clean. The kitchen was equipped with a blender which we made great use of to make smoothies. We also used the filter coffee machine in the suite but then realized there was coffee available also at the front desk. We also appreciated that we got beach towels in addition to the regular towels. The premises are a nice oasis away from the road, with lots of trees, plants and birds. The pool was a really nice addition to cool off from time to time. Very quiet and respectful overall. We could hear the neighbours upstairs at times, but it didn't bother us as they were not loud late at night. Overall, we really loved our stay at Villas Colibrí and would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in exploring Cozumel beyond the all inclusive deals/cruise pit stops or touristic centre.

In terms of the location, the beaches were rather far from where we stayed. We didn't have a car so trekking for at least 30-45 minutes in the May humid heat every day to get to a beach was a bit of an effort. But another time of the year, with lower temperatures, it would have probably been lovely to explore the city on foot on the way to the beach. In terms of the room itself, just a small detail but the shower head was spraying water all over the bathroom when we showered, no big deal but it could probably be easily repaired or replaced. And the shower water temperature was not stable, it would go from hot to cold to hot again and cold again. It didn't bother us too much as it was very hot outside anyway.

The grounds were nice. The bed was very comfortable.

I think we got the worst room on the property because we requested a first floor room. A tiny bottle of water was provided, which was not sufficient.
