Arcadia Resort

We loved everything about our stay at arcadia and it might be the best place we stayed at during our two weeks in Sri Lanka. First of all, we booked this hotel literally 1 hour before coming, and the staff wasn't bothered; they let us pick out our room from the ones that were free. The price is great, especially considering the two pools, the great rooms, and the overall level of service provided by the staff. The location is great, as it is close to the best snorkeling beach in Hikkaduwa while not being directly on the busy street. We picked this hotel because we read we could stay at the pool until we left for our flight later in the evening. What we got was actually even better. We were able to leave our stuff at the reception and enjoy our day in Hikkaduwa. We had time to go to the beach and stay by the pool, and they were even so kind as to put a room at our disposal to shower and charge our devices while we waited for our taxi. Overall we had an amazing time, and our only regret was that we only stayed there for our last two nights in Sri Lanka.

Great Location to the beach and local shops, there is a market and shop on the same street which is very good. The rooms were pleasant and clean. The staff were amazing, very friendly, very helpful and always on hand if we required something.

Room was large. Property was quiet. Location was central in the town.

It is next to the only grass field in the town where Christmas concerts were taking place all night with loud music. Checkin was very slow and rather unprofessional. We waited 30 min even though they claimed to be ready. A cockroach was found in the separate kitchen space, which itself was dirty. The toilet was tiny and badly designed. It also suffered from water flowing in from the water tank when staff forgot to switch off the motor.
