Convenient location in a very nice private home area. Just a few minutes to downtown, supermarket, and ferry. Host was very nice and went out of her way to help us with whatever we needed. She gave us good recommendations on restaurants, beaches, sailing, etc.

The website wasn't clear that there were two different floors on this property, and we were in the bottom floor. The bottom floor opens onto a small courtyard area with plants and flowers, and a bbq, but no views. The top floor has a great big porch that has nice views of the sea and surrounding country-side, and is much bigger, more modern, and more comfortable. Definitely book the top floor for the space and views! The host did move us up to the top floor after the residents there left for our last night. It was much nicer!

The staff was helpful and kind. They really put in effort to help (remote) with lost keys and more. When we complained about the stale moist smell they came and opened all windows for us to let it breathe.

There are 2 apartments, and that’s not very clear on Booking.com at all. Thus, if you get the top apartment it’ll probably be great. If you get the bottom one, it’s a bit below level, like a souterrain. This one is outdated and does not look like the photos online. We wouldn’t recommend it. It’s very humid in the twin room (smells like Asia). The double room has better air. There is no airconditioning, making the odd smell of humidity worse. The shower is tiny, tall or heavy people can’t stand there properly. We’re 3 slim women but still found it small. Recommendation: we booked for a week and only get 1 set of towels each. For a stay of 7 days we’d recommend changing the towels once. In the end we were hardly at our apartment, except to sleep. And the smell faded after 2 or 3 days, except the humidity in the twin room which I found very unpleasant. There are ugly plastic chairs on the terrace, it would be better not to put chairs than those. We think with a bit of updating it could be a nice place, but it needs some work. However, we’ve seen that overall apartments in La Maddalena are not up to the same standards as we’re used to in The Netherlands. Even with that in consideration there are improvements that can be made.
