Casa Marbella

Wow, just wow! I am so glad I booked Casa Marbella - I would 100% come again! I stayed for 5 days, which I spent quite a lot of time at the hotel lounging by the pool or hanging out in my hammock on the terrace overlooking the ocean. The staff was so accommodating, offering me a free room upgrade, great recommendations, and a warm greeting always. My room was cleaned everyday, good free coffee and some fruits offered, and impeccable views. There's an amazing SALT WATER pool which was always sparkling clean, quiet, a great temperature, and peaceful with plenty of lounge chairs, shade, and space for tanning. Everyone was quiet and respectful, there's beautiful foliage and birds to watch/listen to. It almost felt like my own resort even though there are lots of rooms! 100% worth it with the low nightly price. Beds SO comfy, lots of towels, kitchens are fully stocked to be able to cook yourself and save some $$ because it is NOT cheap around here to eat! That said, there is a great soda down the street which has affordable, local meals. Not glamorous or anything, but the cheapest place to eat and delicious! Super close to town/beach/stores/yoga etc! The hill isn't that bad, fairly small. But you do get sweaty walking up it because of the temperature/humidity here. Some mosquitoes, but you'll get that everywhere here. Not many bugs otherwise, they definitely do due diligence to keep them out!

Barely anything! I will say that the wifi drops in/out quite frequently but I never had troubles reconnecting quickly. Might be tough if you are here to work and need to be on virtual calls often. There is a pretty ugly building in front of the pool area, but if you just look past it it's still a great view. You can't get everything perfect, and all of the benefits outweigh this small con.

Casa Marbella was great! There were a lot of places that were within a 5 minute walk of the hotel; grocery store, cafes, restaurants, a few surf shops, and of course an incredibly beautiful beach. The staff were great and taking yoga with Francesca was the perfect way to start your day. If I ever come back to Santa Teresa I'd stay at Casa Marbella.
