Gumnut Beach House Homestay

Quiet and peaceful south cliff heights location, a few hundred meters uphill from restaurants on the beach and cheaper local places on the main road. There is a nice restaurant with access down to the beach across the street. It’s well-built, clean and serene, with a shared kitchen upstairs with kettle, cooker and associated implements for vegetarian food and drink prep. Rose, the hostess, is Australian, speaks great English, and is straightforward, nice and helpful. A ceiling fan and good shade keep the place pleasantly cool with open windows. There is hot water with good pressure in the shower if you wait a minute. It’s safe and secure. I thought it was good value and extended my stay.

Some temporary noise related to road construction that was completed while I was there and outside of the property’s control.

Very clean and quiet location - right off the south cliff. We stayed in the four bedroom and it was very spacious with a little balcony.

Gumnut house is a simple guesthouse in Varkala. Th house is managed by Rose who is a great host. The house is extremely clean, wifi is excellent, location is great, bathroom is extremely nice with hot water. Gumnut is 2 min walk from Surf and Soul, where guests can enjoy a café/restaurant offering extremely good food, a private beach and surf and yoga lessons. I would definitely recommend!

The room was spacious than we expected. Large beds were comfortable. Easy access to kitchen. Wi fi was available. The host was kind and friendly. Happy with the way we were treated the whole two days. Location was pleasant and the beach was just a few 100 metres from the beach house. Location is safe to talk late night stroll. Overall satisfied with the experience had at gumnut beach house.
