The staff were lovely as always and the location is great.
It seemed to us that standards were not what we are used to here. At no point did the WiFi work at all despite reporting this straight away. The HIE WiFi did not even appear as an option - although there was a card in the room saying it was free and available in "all of our rooms". The room was uncomfortably hot overnight despite turning the heating down. There was a lot of noise from the carpark. The kettle was faulty and there was a button 'coat hook' hanging off the wall. We reported all this next morning. Breakfast was chaos, not the fault of the staff, apparently there were "more people than we expected" - how does that even happen?? None of these factors ruined our stay, and the staff were very apologetic, but we have never had a problem at all at the Middlesbrough HIE before during quite a few stays. Rather disappointed and inclined to now look to Premier Inn, Travelodge next time we are in the area, whereas we have always come straight to you.
