Lovely setting, good decor & spaces making a welcoming feel, friendly staff, interesting spacious & individualised rooms
On the night I stayed I was woken early & unexpectedly by noisy building work in the next room. The hotel staff apologised for what were emergency works & handled things effectively

Location, & room. Amazing grounds.
Shower in room 1 didn’t work Full English breakfast was poor. Dry rubbery bacon, black pudding & sausage was inedible. For the price there should be a lounge to relax. One sofa in a small hall/reception area alone is not enough.

Dinner. The first course was reasonable. The main course we had was fish and chips. The cod was utterly tasteless and a few of the chips were not completely cooked
