Calipso Residence

Tout a été parfait à Calipso Residence: très bel endroit, spacieux et propre. Le balcon et la terrasse avec vue sur mer, un vrai plaisir. Ida a été très gentille et ses conseils très utiles.

Upon check-in, the owner, Ida and Leo gave us a warm welcome. Leo is incredibly knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects—including industrial products—and I found myself completely engrossed in our conversation. He was born in this very apartment, and converted his home into this apartment sixteen years ago, personally overseeing almost every detail, from the structural design and furnishings to the selection of fixtures and the beautiful tiles adorning the floors and walls. The longer you stay, the more you will come to appreciate the apartment's charm. 　One thing not yet mentioned in the Booking.com reviews is the beautiful view of the path of light—known as a "moon glade". During our four previous visits to the Amalfi Coast, we witnessed the most magnificent and mystical moon glades here. This is likely due to the fact that the apartment is situated at a high elevation and its view is unobstructed by other buildings or cliffs. Gazing at that scenery from the balcony, we savored what was truly the best Spumante of our lives. 　Finally, we’d like to share a story about a mishap we experienced. After checking out, we headed down the hill to the SITA bus stop with our two suitcases. A few minutes later, we saw Leo’s daughter-in-law running down the hill toward us; she had gone out of her way to bring us a hair tie my wife had accidentally left behind in the bedroom. At that moment, we learned that the SITA buses no longer accepted passengers with large suitcases. While the older buses used to have under-floor storage compartments for luggage, the newer models did not. She called Leo, and together they brilliantly solved our transportation problem. Had she not come to return that small hair tie, we almost certainly would have missed our flight home. I neglected to ask for her name, but we are deeply grateful to both her and Leo. Again, we came to appreciate the apartment's charm—a quality that transcends mere comfort.
