Chalet Monchique

La casa es muy bonita , tiene de todo. Amplia, bien decorada, limpia. Los anfitriones son muy majos .

Le falta un baño, solo tiene dos y uno es muy pequeño. Para 8 personas ha sido muy incómodo. El lavavajillas no funcionaba, hemos tenido que fregar a mano todos los días lo de 8 personas.

Everything was excellent, the character of property, decoration, the perfect size, the privacy, pristine cleaning, the fresh wind in mornings and afternoons, pet friendly, good location…

Nothing.

The house was very clean, quirky, and has a lovely family history behind it. The owners were helpful, flexible and understanding throughout. Sadly it just wasn't right for us. We booked 7 nights and left after 2, which was our own fault. We should have read the description properly and checked the location on Google Maps first. We were two families travelling together, with small children and older relatives, some with limited mobility, and the steep stairs both inside and outside the house were a real struggle for them. Being new to Portugal, we also hadn't appreciated how mountainous it is. Driving to the shops or the beach turned into more of a chore than you want on holiday. That said, the location is good for exploring and the mountain views are amazing. None of this is anything the owners can change. It's an old house with its own character and it will suit plenty of people, just not our group and the goal of our trip. They refunded us for the nights we didn't stay, with no fuss at all, which we really appreciated!

Access to the room in the attic and the bed. Also, the pool is more of a plunge pool.
