The location, the big house and space, the gardens. The old furnishings and the dark skies. It was well kitted out and I loved the arga in the kitchen. There was plenty of space outside to sit and enjoy an outdoor meal in the beautiful gardens. The weather we couldn't control but we were lucky and got good views of the night skies thanks to the weather. Got to see the Milky Way. We felt like we were in an old fashioned mansion and opened our imaginations to what this house has actually seen over the years. It was good reading all the history of the Crofts estate. We didn't get bored here. The beach was only half an hour drive. There is also a nice big pond behind the house and if you walk up and over the hill, we found another pond.

The lack of Internet, the TV was very old. The sofa needed updating. The locks on the doors weren't the best and some of the inside doors struggled to close. Could only use the back utility room for because that one was the only one we could lock and unlock without much trouble. Some windows opened while others didn't. The washing line outside was broken and kept collapsing on us. The road on the way upto the house could do with filling in in places. I kept catching the underside of my car on the island in the middle of the road.
