Lovely spot - caring staff

The location in a unique nature conservation area is fascinating. The staff were extremely helpful as one of our party had a broken leg. They were caring and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and safe.

A Very Restful Weekend.

Very nice staff. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and I got a really nice rest both days I was there. A quick drive to various beaches and out of the way enough so that it is calm and peaceful. Great place.

I would have liked a plug near the desk so I could work on my computer more comfortably.

A 4 star hotel among the marvel of the untouched nature

This place is unusual. If you want a vibrant city it is not the right place. However if you like wild nature, piece, quietness you will get completely recharged here. You can even bring your vipassana retreat here! There is a nice pine tree forest nearbuy and you can go to see a flock of wild birds nesting up above, see the beaty of untouched sand seashore and the vast view. I saw also some rare birds! It feels like you are a guest in this nature marvel. The sea is shallow so you walk first 30 -50 metres and then can swim. The water is clean has curing features and is good for joints and skin. Also people bring there boats and go fishing. The hotel is not new but is comfortable, everything is clean and works properly, they also serve breakfast with soul! Home-made cakes - salty and sweet and you feel that they care! There is a nice garden with shadowy trees and flowers, and you can make a barbecue- they provide with everything needed, you just bring what you want to bake)) The hotel is run by father and son who is at reception- he is very helpful and friendly. There is lots of free parking space. If you like you can visit St Nicholas monastery which is only several km from the hotel. It is a unique place and lots of people come there for excursions. It is placed about 500 meters further in the water and you reach it on foot by a bridge. There is also a very cheap market, a bit of shops and cafes about 1-2 km away from the hotel.

History, tradition, comfort and environment

The hotel combines comfort and ambiance with respect for tradition and the environment. we learned that the hotel lies on the ancient route between Rome and Byzantium (or Rome of the East). It’s nested organically between the lagoon of Vistonis and the sea. This unique location at the edge of a world-renowned national park allowed us to observe from a respectful distance rare wildlife and enjoy the spa waters of the northernmost beach of Greece. The vast expanse of the crystal calm waters near the hotel are a refuge for flamingos, herons, storks, pelicans, and of course pheasants who actually have there their only natural habitat in Europe. The owners of the hotel are knowledgeable and well-informed about environmental issues of the area. We followed their very useful guidance and made the most of our stay by the sea in Porto Lagos.

The behaviour of some tourists in the area seemed oblivious to the fact that they were visiting a unique national park.

Hospitable and helpful host, great setting and great overall value!

The breakfast was different on the two days I stayed.The setting, with Nightingales singing , a Hoopoe pair clearly with nest nearby, and with birds like Little and Caspian Terns within 400 metres, Pelicans well known to be in vicinity, this is a great first stop after Thessaloniki as It was for me, and staff were so charming.The bedroom was spacious.Top value all round!

The host is really helpful and friendly, not yust about the accommodation but the region as well. His hospitality made us enjoy the stay even better. The location is really calm and nice yust few minutes walk to the coastline or the center of the village. There is located one restaurant but with excellent dishes, mostly seafood. The rooms are well equipped, clean and the beds are comfortable. There is breakfast as well which is a good variety of bakery and other light delicious foods. For us it was an authentic experience👍

Unexpected beautiful place

We were on our way from Turkey to Italy and found this hotel close to the highway. A beautiful setting with sea, lakes and flamingos. Very kind and helpful personnel . The hotel is simple but nice.
