Apartment Chalet Doris-1 by Interhome

This is the best chalet we have stayed in during 35 years of travel. The location is wonderful, the views sublime, quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable and the lounge and dining area very relaxing. The secluded balcony has a wonderful sunny view. Parking was easy and the chalet is just a short walk from the shops and facilities of Grindelwald. But really, the single best thing is the owner. A lovely lady who made us feel very welcome, gave us helpful advice and was helpful in every way, while respecting our privacy. We will return as soon as we can.

Nothing. A perfect stay.

Our expectations of Doris’ chalet were far exceeded! Perfect size, sooooo comfortable, lots of home-comfort facilities, comfy bed, lots of wardrobe space, great shower and the whole place was super clean! I am a clean-freak and usually on holiday I have to give most things a clean but not at Doris’!! The absolute star in the crown at this chalet is the view from the balcony - it is heartbreakingly amazing, in fact it reduced me to tears. The location is fabulous too. A wonderful steady walk into town. Yes, there is a steepish incline up to the actual property but it’s nothing majorly challenging. I’m 61 and hubby is 66 and we managed it just fine, even after full days out hiking! Trust me, if you do find the incline a challenge, the reward when you get to the chalet and sit on your balcony is totally worth it. They only English channel on the tv appears to be BBC news channel but who comes to Switzerland to watch tv? Get out & about or sit on your balcony to take in the view and read 🤗 Doris is a lovely lady. She was there to meet us on arrival, show us around the chalet etc and she was there when we were leaving. Even though she lives in the ground floor level of the chalet we didn’t see her all holiday, in fact we didn’t see anyone so privacy and peace & quiet are an absolute given 👍

There is absolutely nothing negative about this property.

The location is a little out of town, but the benefit of this is that is so quiet and peaceful. There is public transport for part of the way from the station. And be prepared for steep hills!
