Confusion about our booking was happily resolved

Hosts were super friendly. Location was good, short walk to the Oberdamuls lift/run.

The 2-bedroom apartment for 6 adults is not as shown in the photos or floor plan. The hosts were super responsive and were able to find a workable solution for us, including opening up an adjoining room having a seating/lounge area and two single beds. They also offered to do our laundry as the apartment does not have the a washing machine and drier as shown in the photos. We were somewhat surprised that the cost of parking and breakfasts were added to our bill at the end of our stay.

Review of hotel Lucia, Damuls

I stayed in the Lucia for 2 Weeks at the start of Feb 2025. It is a nice modern styled hotel, conveniently located between the ski slope (top of Damuls) and the kitchen/ spar shop (middle of town). I was immediately welcomed and greeted with warm hospitality, and had no problem in communicating, even though my German is not very good. I even got free German lessons throughout my stay! The breakfasts were superb, fresh fried eggs every morning, and in the second week I was spoiled by delicious, heart warming 4 course dinners from Marlies & Martin. Marlies also kindly did my laundry for me throughout my stay! I thoroughly recommend this hotel for a vacation; Damuls-Mellau is a varied, quiet, unspoilt ski area that you will just want to keep coming back to. And hotel Lucia as well !

The apartment was comfortable and stylishly furnished. There was everything one can need in the kitchen and elsewhere. The staff wasvery friendly. There is a restaurant nearby even in the summer.

The breakfast was standart, but we would recommend some more sliced bread, because there was nice selection of different spreads and no toast or sliced bread.

The adventure begins at the doorstep (great location). The owners actively reduce foodwaste (refilling the breakfast buffet in a timely manner rather than offering excessive amounts to begin with). Facilities such as room and spa make a great impression.

Very comfy apartment with kitchen.

This is not the apartment’s fault, but we approached Damuls from the west and google maps was totally wrong in their estimation of the time to arrive. It is a narrow, windy road and took us more than twice as long as google maps predicted. Part of the road is one lane with occasional pull offs in the event you meet another car.

Breakfast was good, location was good.

I came with my two children for one night with the intention to go for a nice walk and then use the advertised wellness area. When we arrived there was nobody to check us in. I called a number and was given a code for a box to open and retrieve the key card. I enquired about the wellness area but was not told anything about it. The lady said she might be able to fire up the sauna later. There were no signs in the hotel and we never saw a staff member who could explain where and how. A big disappointment and for just the room with continental breakfast without any spa, steam bath, sauna as advertised, EUR 150 incl. all the genius discounts was far too much. Wifi was super slow, no fridge or coffee and tea making facilities in the room. No possibility to have dinner or a drink at the hotel, everything was closed. No welcome info, what to do, where to eat, and nobody there to ask, not even any check-out procedure or person we could talk to. Left the key card on some desk and went.

A typical stay in the mountains

A typical stay in the mountains. The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was really cool though, with a comfortable shower. The place also did dinner on request, which was really handy for people like us, who were just travelling through. The breakfast was really good and had about everything you would expect. Really enjoyed it.

Food was a bit pricy in my opinion, that was not necessary.

A lovely place you feel home and welcome

We are a family of 3 with a one year old son. We stayed in hotel Lucia for 4 nights and enjoyed every second of it! We felt very welcome. The hostess and her husband are very sweet and friendly and do everything to make you feel home and comfortable. The breakfast was really nice, a lot of choice and all fresh, and also the dinner was delicious. The room was large, cosy and quiet. The wellness very beautiful. For us this was holiday as it should be.

Quiet location on a gravel road aside of the village. Family is very friendly. It is as if you visit your family or friends,

Separate bathrooms and toilets would be fine. Navigation is tricky. Hard to find. The owner saw us lost in the countryside and guided us to the house.
