Our goal was Chartres - the cathedral. We were pleasantly surprised about the city itself.

The location was perfect for us - close to the cathedral. The service at the bar - drinks and food - was excellent. What little we ate was beautifully prepared and very tasty. Unfortunately, we did not have time to enjoy the dinner there.

The breakfast was adequate.

The shower head over the bath had a small problem with the fixture on the wall, but it was no great problem to hold it.

Reception was welcoming and the night view to the cathedral and the light show was great !

Room could have been more throughly clean, especially since the floor is carpet, and there was noise in the corridors during the night. Bed is rather small

Overall very good and would stay again if visiting Chartres

Location was excellent and the room very comfortable. Loved the addition of the elevator, travelling internationally can mean heavy bags! The staff helpful, and generous about the parking facilities

The team didn't communicate our dinner requests across all changeover team so that was a bit tricky and we wound up having to find our meal at another location, which was a pity.

Comfortable, welcoming and well situated.

The evening meal was excellent. However it was not quite as good as the one we had 4 weeks before. This could have been caused by the large banquet in the next room. Food quality at breakfast was good but many items were left unfilled, eg. butter, bacon and scrambled eggs.

The rooms are small but comfortable, and the location perfect. Plumbing noises are annoying in some rooms.

A blissful break within a stressful little trip!

We have been here before and had high expectations, which were if anything surpassed on this visit. Originally we had booked for 2 weeks earlier but had to cancel when our car broke down (we were using Chartres as our half-way stop on the journey back to England); then had to come back to France 2 weeks later to collect the car from Blois and had a frantic two day trip, of which the night in Chartres was the midpoint. And everything about it was perfect: the super-comfortable room with a view of the cathedral, the terrace where we finally sat down for a kir on a balmy August evening, the restaurant with its menu with matched wines, the huge soft bed with lovely linens, the fabulous breakfast the next morning. The light show was the cherry on the cake - can’t credit that to the hotel but it was lovely. Overall it was just what we needed at that juncture and we were incredibly grateful to all at the Boeuf Couronné for a marvellous little stay.

Great location to visit the town.

Great location as a base to explore the town. Restaurant is on site but a separate business to the hotel but great food choices and attentive staff. We stayed 2 nights and both nights the weather was beautiful so could eat dinner outside to enjoy the live entertainment, pianist and singer/guitarist.

Perfect location and friendly staff!

Very friendly staff. Excellent buffet breakfast (breads, pastries, cold meats/cheese, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and delicious coffee!) I booked a room overlooking the Cathedral and it was stunning! Also the hotel is just a 3 minute walk from both the train station and the Cathedral so was very convenient.
