The property itself was wonderful, better than I expected.

Nothing that would be within the control of the owner. (There were quite a lot of homeless/drug users in the area, which is probably true of most city centres.)

The property is best described as “bijou”. It’s a lovely studio flat/bedsit. It had a nice shower and TV (although with no terrestrial aerial - you need to log on to digital accounts). The sofa was comfortable and overall the flat was a very good base and good value for money compared with Exeter prices. The location was excellent for Exeter Cathedral and for exploring the high street. It was also very near the oldest building in Exeter, St Nicholas Priory, built in 1087, which is now a lovely museum and worth visiting.

The kitchenette was very tiny and the placement might be for plumbing rather than design reasons. By the window might have made more sense, but maybe that would create further issues? We didn’t want to risk cooking on hot plates under the TV so ended up eating takeout/microwave meals, which was fine. Perhaps more shelving/workspace (for the kettle/toaster) nearer the sink would be better. We didn’t see any manuals for appliances but could look things up online anyway. The bed was a little soft for us, but that’s personal preference. The hot water didn’t work on the first morning, but luckily it was a heat wave and the owner made sure the situation was resolved very quickly, which was great.

Excellent location right in the the centre of Exeter. The provision of amenities in the flat were very thought through - even a POD coffee machine! Inventive kitchenette although would be tricky to cook properly but great for small things. Huge TV great for watching a film in the evening after a long day exploring the city. The optional car parking space was also great.

Lots of codes for doors and parking - make sure you read the instructions well! Good level of cleanliness but could have been a but cleaner in the corners.

Great location in terms of being close to everything. Very clean. Comfy mattress. Lovely power shower.

Woken by building works at 730 am Saturday. Stove tip wasn't working. Fridge iced up my cucumber and Tuna steak despite average setting. Contacted host regarding the stove but this was not resolved. Room was a nice temperature but duvet was far too thick for me and more appropriate for deepest winter. Not very cozy/ambient lighting. Messages from host largely generic with no personal touch.
