Great place. Really enjoyed it with the kids

Overall we enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend this resort.

Beautiful and well kept. Access to the boardwalk was easy and lots of restaurants near by.

Did not have a nice lounge area on rainy days to layback and enjoy a book outside of your room. Rooms had an unpleasant odour when you walked in.

The outside space was cramped and disappointing. I like to be able to sit a look out to sea this was not possible. Check-in is at 5pm only I arrived earlier the was a €40 charge for early check in which is not regular. Old dated dark furniture and decor

Delightful Doña Lola

Excellent resort with beach, promenade, restaurants and bars all within a couple of minutes walk. Our 1 bedroomed apartment was clean, comfortable, well equipped and spacious. One of the outdoor pools is heated so it was a treat to be able to swim outside at the end of December. Free on site parking. Daily entertainment.

A big disappointment, few staff, poor welcome and virtually closed as ‘off season. Not an experience to repeat.

The apartment was fine however neither sheets or towels were changed during our 6 nights. Enriques restaurant was open and welcoming, taxis were easily available.

We arrived around 8.30pm. Checked in at Reception which was down a steep flight of stairs and given a map of the resort with our apartment marked. We then spent 45 minutes trying to find it whilst carrying two heavy suitcases up and down flights of stairs. The resort is poorly lit and there was nothing to eat or drink in the apartment. We were given a ‘welcome pack’ the following morning for which we were charged €35 on checkout. Most of the bars and restaurants on site were closed and we were fortunate that Enriques found a table for us on NYE.

Fully enjoyable stay

We liked everything about this hotel and our apartment, it was spacious, comfortable and easy to warm up with air conditioner. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional. The use of spa and 2 heated pools that were included in the price, location of the hotel, the garden if the hotel complex -everything was great.

The furniture and the equipment in the apartment is a bit old but that was a small thing as compared to the positives.

Dona Lola is like our second home. The apartment we stayed in Victoria 204 was beautiful with a sea view, sunbeds and balcony. The resort is very well kept and they have a kids club 🏡

The only thing this time that was disappointing was the towels that we were provided. They weren’t the usual fluffy yellow ones we were given the very old orange leisure centre towels. I had to chase these being changed a couple of times but we did get the fluffy towels the next day.

Lovely apartments in a nice tranquil setting

The apartment was very spacious and clean. The gardens were lovely and well looked after. Pool was nice but could do with a few more slides etc for kids to play with. Staff were very nice.

Pool wasn’t very child friendly, and people reserved sun-beds with their towels so if you arrived mid morning to the pool there was no available sun-beds . The beach was quite rocky so not good for the kids. Our apartment didn’t have view we looked onto the back of another apartment

Spacy, convenient apartment, big pool, direct access to beaches and promenade

After we visited noisy overcrowded tourist towns we were happy here. It's lively, but not too much. There are restaurants and shops nearby. The resort is situated directly at the sea, there is very nice wooden sea promenade which stretches for kilometers. The long beaches are available directly from the resort, they are partly with stones, partly sandy. The apartment offers convenient living, very spacy and clean, the wooden furniture is a little bit older, but in good quality and nice color, there are nice dishes and decors. The swimming pool is large, the green areas well-maintained. The beds are comfortable, with a choice of pillows. There are pool towels. The parking was not a big problem, we always found a place, although not directly at the apartment. The staff was friendly. We prolonged or stay for three nights and upgraded the room, everything ran smoothly and we were able to change the room without waiting for the official check-in time. Gracias!

Since this is not a five-star resort and we got a good discount from Booking.com, it would be unfair to complain about small things. Just for other guests to know: the kitchen is quite sparsely equipped. The big swimming pool is deep, there is only one small place where it is possible to stand on feet, and all pool stairs are vertical (special pool chair for handicapped is available, though, but do not know if it works). However, there is nice children pool with depth from very flat to a little bit deeper. Some places need refurbishment, but for the price we paid it is completely OK. The only really unpleasant thing was the smell in our upgraded apartment on ground level - in the other apartment there was no smell. However, this was compensated by fantastic location of the apartment with big terrace, sea and pool view.

Dona Lola stay

The grounds of the apartments were beautifully kept, the pool area was great and it backed out onto the beach which was lovely to go between both throughout the day. The pool bar/restaurant was great, lots to eat and drink with happy hour between 5-6. Every second night they had entertainment acts which were great but meant there was a long wait for food due to the busyness of the place. (2 hours which wasn't great with hungry kids) Staff were friendly and helpful. There were lots of restaurants right beside the apartments like Indian, Thai and Italian which were lively and the food was delicious, especially at Da Vinci's. Across the road/over the bridge there was a square with lots of other restaurants to eat at. We had the Chinese and it was delicious and so reasonable. Max's beach club is around a 10-minute walk with lots of entertainment and food. La Cala De Mijas was a 10 euro taxi ride and worth it for late-night markets and restaurants. Fuengerolia was about a 15-minute taxi ride away and cost about 25 euros. Or you can catch a bus just along from the apartments for 3 euros approx. Our airport taxi costs 75 euros so probably best to get an Uber for cheaper.

The reception for apartments was down about 20 steep steps which is fine unless you have 2 x extremely large cases and arrive late at night. Thankfully our apartment was ground floor as we were 2 x females and 2 x teenagers - we would never have been able to climb the stairs carrying those. Beds in the room were comfortable but the sofa bed/couch was not very comfy however, they did give us extra mattress toppers which helped a little. On the last day/checkout, you can keep your cases behind the reception desk and have a shower in the gym area but you're not allowed to use the pool area which I thought was strange as it's not like an all-inclusive where you were not buying your food & drink. Apart from that, it was a lovely place and I would recommend and revisit. If booking next time I would ask for Seaview and an alternative apartment block as our Louisa B block we were given ( the kitchen was very small and the balcony /terrace was enclosed rather than open which meant it wasnt as pleasant to sit out on at night or in mornings.

very nice, but indoor pool was a disappointment

indoor pool was to busy no structure, couldnt use the jacuzzi as full of kids under 12 when it clearly states no under 12 we asked the guy on reception and said rules had changed, i thought this was a fitness centre not a pool that kids and parents played games and had no awareness of others who wanted to swim around them i think this needs to be more structured n the indoor pool, maybe a lane for swimming only also would be good as i know alot of hotels offer this we had someone with us that couldnt swim so would of been nice to be offered swimming lessons whist we were staying there maybe this would be something you could offer in the future for adults and children and this would generate an income as we would of been happy to pay for this as an extra instead we had to find a local swimming instructor for a crash course whilst we were there and i would highly recommend this swim academy

We would stay again but would ask for one of the renovated apartments.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Resort and apartment were spotlessly clean. The resort is well maintained. The apartment itself was dated. Fridge door shelving was missing our broken and fell out if you put anything on them, eg milk juice etc. had to unplug lamps as there were no spar plug points. Sofa bed really uncomfortable as was the lounge seating. Good tv for when it rains, lots of uk channels. Heated pool a lovely temperature.
