Staff great and very helpful. Not much else going for it
Many things, but this could be a really nice hotel
1. Having changed USD into Uruguay currency on arrival at Montevideo this hotel only accepts USD in restaurant and for hotel payment . Why ?
2. Expensive overpriced restaurant which is probably why it was always empty
3. No tea / coffee making in room, no complimentary water on arrival. Disappointing
4. Breakfast was not well organized and not great either
5. Swimming pool painted black to hide the dirt and sand which is in it. Never saw it cleaned, I wouldn't swim in it
6. Staircase to first floor (steps also painted black !?! weird) needs better lighting and a handrail as a must for safety.
This all sounds bad, as in essence this is a nice hotel but it could be so much better with some structure, management and customer service. It's all very well marketing yourself as an exclusive hotel, but then you have to step up to give that level of quality of service.
