Very friendly staff, very good breakfasts, and evening meals.
Very good location just off the village centre and lots of nice walk straight out the hotel door.
I personally was very happy with the property.

Great location. Nice welcome. Room small but functional and as expected in an older building. Nice to have character. Amazing selection of gin in the bar. Food in restaurant good with for dinner and breakfast. Overall, a lovely experience.
Oddly the bar area was a little small so.no table for pre-dinner drinks.

Great location and character. Spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly.
A nice relaxing lounge/conservatory area away from the busy bar area.
A lovely cooked breakfast. Perfect poached eggs!
The room was very dated.
The cold water pipes made a racket when turning the tap on.
We were provided with sparkling water in the room which we don’t like. This wouldn’t normally be an issue, but we were unable to drink the tap water due to the sediment.
No normal breakfast tea bags provided in the room. Only flavoured and Earl Grey.
Tinned fruit served on the buffet breakfast.
Pre ordered our evening meal being Christmas Eve. Had to chase a missing starter and a kids meal which arrived almost 10 minutes after the rest of the mains. We were also charged for an adult ice cream despite requesting a plain ice cream for our Grandson as part of the kids menu. The ice cream was not served plain and so didn’t get eaten.

It had hundreds of drinks choices. The food was good but not fantastic. The ladies that served breakfast were very welcoming.
The staff were (apart from breakfast) indifferent and there should have been some sort of supervisor. Our room was supposed to be superior. It smelt of chlorine, whether it was something to do with the cleaning cupboard next door l don’t know. I saw the same room mentioned in an earlier review as a small double. The bedroom was really bland all round, although the shower was excellent. When we arrived we were shown to the bottom of the stairs that led up to where our room was and the stairs were very steep. I had already explained that I had a leg injury and nobody had thought to mention the stairs either on the site or via email after booking. Fortunately I was able to manage albeit slowly. When we got to the room on what was probably the coldest night of the year so far this winter there was no heating on in the bedroom and it was freezing. I’m sorry to say I thought it was £20 per night overpriced. I could go on but I feel there’s either been recent changes or times are really tough. It just didn’t live up to the reviews or expectations.

the lady who served breakfast was delightful . The other staff were also friendly and helpful.
I was worried being a pub that it would be very noisy outside my window on the weekend,,,but it wasnt bad and not too late either in Novemnber. Barely noticed.
I had trouble with the shower temperature...it was scalding hot...but I forgot th ein th emorning to ask about it so thats on me I guess... The dining room has been modernized....its the way things go in old historic pubs...but its a bit back and grey and lacks design warmth...again...just my taste

The Old Bell Inn was a wonderful base for our explorations of the Saddleworth area. We arrived by train at Greenfield Station at 7:00AM and needed to take a bus or taxi to Delph. Being Americans and unfamiliar with the buses, we walked the quarter mile to Uppermill and had someone there call us a taxi. It was a short trip and very affordable. At the Inn the staff was very helpful, giving us directions and suggestions of things to see and do. We were especially pleased with the suggestion to walk the Donkey Trail to Uppermill. It was a delightful way to start and end our days. The Inn's restaurant serves a good breakfast. We were there during the shoulder season so it was very relaxed. Our room was quirky but nice, having been carved out of the original building next to the pub and now connected by a winding hall. It was comfortable and quiet, as requested. It was on the second floor and there was a lounge close by which was both convenient and cozy. We would go there to review the day's activities and plan the next.

Excellent bar and food area
As expected nothing

Enthusiasm of all staff. Rooms in old buildings often unpredictable and need someone to visit as a new quest to iron out ‘ flaws’, eg phone charging, extractor fans that sound worse than Concord.
Issues in more than one room with radiators not working.

Great breakfast, bar food and main dining. The Old Bell Inn has something for everyone. The room was comfy, well equipped and clean. The staff are so friendly it makes you smile. We always receive a warm welcome when we stay here.
The Wi-fi in the room, it didn't connect. But that is a minor detail.

Absolutely excellent food
Could not get the TV to work properly. What happened to good old simply switch it on, maybe change the channels up or down and watch simply watch something? Needed a specialist university degree for this one!

It’s quirkiness, and friendly staff. Great breakfast choice.
The shower screen allowed water to seep onto the bathroom floor.
Parking (had to park a couple of hundred meters away).

It's a beautiful b and b. The food was out of this world! Delicious.
Staff were lovely, can't do enough for you. The bedroom was beautiful. It's a very old grade listed hotel, and its beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The room was very comfortable, well presented and clean, with very good In room beverages and biscuits. Bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water and was very clean.
Restaurant was roomy and comfortable with a great menu, all meals were well prepared. There was also a great choice for breakfast and the beer in the bar was especially good.
To top all this, the staff were amazing. They were friendly, polite and incredibly accommodating.
Absolutely nothing.

There is parking on site. However, free on street parking is available. Dinner is available both in the restaurant and in the bar. However, it does get busy and booking is recommended.
The car parking spaces are a bit small for large SUV's. The room we had in the new extension was a tad small but, perfectly adequate for a couple of nights.

Lovely property very old and traditional
The bedroom was boiling hot and the windows would not stay open, they are the old sash Windows and the mechanism is broken, they need fixing. The stairs are steep with very small treads, I realise this is part of the original building but in my opinion they are dangerous for a public building. The drinks are extremely expensive, we paid £16.45 for a pint of lager and a small Prosecco. The breakfast service was very slow and when we eventually did get the food it was mainly cold.

Staff were warm and friendly, everywhere and everything was lovely and clean, breakfast was delicious as were our meals in the evening. On the Saturday evening we missed the food cut off point but a member of staff arranged a lovely ham & salad sandwich so we didn’t go hungry!

The staff were really friendly
Atmosphere in the pub and breakfast room was good
The plumbing in the bedroom was a nuisance, cold tap in the sink constantly dripped and made such a noise when used.
Toilet flush was loose, catching on the toilet seat lid and difficult to get to work
