Friendly and helpful staff
The resort feel stops at the impressive entrance
- really small pool (do not be tricked by images of much larger pool at neighboring hotel under same brand, shown on web) which unlike neighbor resort closes at 18:00, and only a dozen of deckchairs for several 100s of guests
- uninspiring restaurants all with indoor seating in spite of the spectacular view. Breakfast restaurant runs out of many things at 09:30 and no-one seems to have the responsibility of checking for this and fill up.
- our rooms were not well maintained with very well used furniture, damp spots on ceiling etc.
- we had more comfortable sleeping quarters on a futon in a lodge on top og Mount Hakuba. Beds are rock hard and your head rests on a bag of rice. Why ???
- NO BEACH. Fair enough geographically, but could be mentioned on hotel web site
- a lack of even basic English skills throughout
Overall hotel caters to Japanese guests which of course is fine given this is the majority of visitors. But at the price one could expect a little more of the international resort feel any Thai 3* hotel will deliver
