Attitude of staff. Despite being disabled I was given an upper floor room when there’s no lift. Said I had tried calling them numerous times and got “oh” as response. Multiple stains on carpets and smell

The receptionist was rude to my husband, so miserable. She did not inform us of parking charge which has led to a 100 pound fine. The hotel itself was dirty and loud you could hear people walking about on the floor above us and we had no key for the door so didn’t even make it to breakfast which I paid for. And right next door to a derelict building

Good location, poor Hotel!.

Staff we're very friendly and polite.

No early check in Booked a family room and given a double. Rooms dated and run down, completely different to online images. No kettle and rooms smelt of damp. Small area for breakfast in the reception area Breakfast ok but having to go to reception to be served was like a school canteen. Area a little run down and hotel is next to a derelict pub which was all boarded up.

It may not the best from appearances but I found the Magnum Hotel to be very good.

As I generally don’t have breakfast I had some toast and a croissant which I couldn’t fault. The facilities were very good and there was breakfast cereals if you wanted as well.

Get what you pay for.

The staff were lovely, very easy to talk with and very informative, they save this hotel. Easy to park and find, close to where I needed to be, which is great. I know there is a fair bit of cons, but if you're looking for a head down, no frills or fancy decoration, this suits.

You can absolutely tell this is an old Premier Inn, still have many of the old signs up and carpets and curtains are the same. They clearly have slapped a bit of paint up and added their name. It is very tired looking still, even with the paint. My heater in the room was broken too, and not especially high clean but don't think that's the staffs fault, you can only clean so much, it doesn't make it new. They are working hard with what they have.

Staff were super friendly and even though we had to pay for parking, the process was straightforward and only £5.50 for 24 hours. Bed and pillows were comfortable.

Room was very warm and with the windows only able to open a little, it was hard to cool the room down.

Hotel is in a slightly remote area ,there is a small retail shopping park next door but if you want a meal or a drink somewhere then you have to drive . The boarded up Pub / Restaurant next door is a bit off putting but obviously this has nothing to do with the hotel

Booking.com Review Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Cons: • First room was filthy (hair on shower wall, food stuck to wall). • Second room had a door that wouldn’t close properly, creating safety concerns. • Hotel refused to issue a refund despite multiple complaints. • Ended up in a third room but only because I had no choice — refund policy left me stuck. • Entire experience was stressful and unacceptable, especially as I was traveling with my daughter for a competition. Summary: Rooms were dirty and unsafe, and the hotel’s “no refunds on site” policy left us trapped. Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had

Good value for money with excellent staff

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean with plenty of tea/coffee options available.

Due to the building next door all being boarded up, the surrounding area does look unsightly. The breakfast area is small so if a few people arrive at the same time it is a little chaotic

Lovely staff who are very friendly and try to help you as much as possible.

The staff were amazing and tried to help as much as they can they are very close to KFC McDonald’s, also next to the retail park which has (to name a few)Greggs, B&M, Iceland, farmfoods & card factory which is helpful.

During very hot weather they didn’t have any fans in the room and it was very humid and stuffy I asked at reception while staff did look in spare rooms there were no other fans available so we had to go and buy one.

Overpriced for the quality

It was in a good location, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bed was comfortable with clean bedding and towels.

Cleanliness was definitely lacking. The bathroom had long hairs from a previous guest in two (pretty obvious) locations, and there was a definite smell in the corridor leading to the room (although the room itself didn't have any smell fortunately). Additionally finding out that the parking was paid as a separate charge wasn't exactly welcome - the quality should have had a price point about £20 lower, and with two cars we also needed to spend another £10 on top.

A coach party was there and when we came down for breakfast at 8.30am there was very little left. We were told we’d have to wait until the shops opened if we wanted some hot food.
