Location was good and easy reach of key sights. Though there was hiccup in terms of room arrangement the staff was kind enough to offer red wine by way of apology. Great service

I expected much more from a Renaissance hotel, especially considering the price and the brand reputation. Unfortunately, the stay was quite disappointing. The location is excellent, and the rooms themselves were generally fine. However, the overall standard of the hotel did not feel consistent with what I would expect from Renaissance. We were three guests staying in two rooms. During check-in, our passports were taken and returned only around 20 minutes later. One staff member, Barbara, was also speaking to her colleagues in a noticeably condescending and unfriendly manner in front of guests, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. When she eventually returned our passports, there was no apology for the wait, no thank you, and barely any communication at all. The whole interaction felt surprisingly indifferent. The cleanliness of the common areas also needs improvement. The rooms were acceptable, but some public areas felt dusty, and the carpets looked like they needed a proper deep cleaning. Breakfast was another disappointment. The selection felt quite limited for a hotel of this category. More surprisingly, some restaurant staff uniforms were visibly worn out — one even appeared to have a hole under the arm. Small details like this make a big difference in a higher-end hotel and gave the restaurant a much cheaper overall impression than expected. At check-out, a staff member asked how our stay had been. When I said that it could have been better, he seemed genuinely concerned and kindly gave us two small magnets. I appreciated the gesture, but unfortunately it did not change the overall experience. At the same time, we again observed Barbara speaking to colleagues in the same unpleasant and condescending way. Overall, the location is very good and the rooms are adequate, but the service standards, cleanliness of the common areas, breakfast quality, staff presentation, and general attention to detail all need improvement. For the price we paid, I expected a significantly higher standard from a Renaissance hotel. Based on this stay, I do not feel it offered good value for money.
