The room was comfortable, the setting was spectacular and the feel of the hotel was of grand Scottish hunting lodge. The breakfast was excellent.
No instructions for working the coffee machine despite the reception's insistence that they should be there so no coffee. No warm water for the shower in the morning. When raised as feedback with the lady at check out we were assured that no one else had any problems and left with the feeling that these comments were not true and would not be acted on. All other staff were very polite and helpful.

With the hotel being a grand building with much history attached and grand grounds it was a pleasant stay. What staff we met were very polite and helpful. Our room was good as it was a corner room with two windows overlooking the front of the hotel and hills beyond. The pool facilities were good however limited seating when full. Good spa pool.
Guests are paying to stay in a grand house the price reflex's this, however found some of the bar meal prices very high and malt whiskey prices over the top. The buffet breakfast was OK but no better then a Travel lodge.
Finally the bathroom is a step up from the bedroom, which for older guests like us caused problems while visiting during the night

The hotel is like stepping back in time! Beautifully decorated, wood burning fires continuously managed on the ground floor make it a cozy place to sit and relax after a day in the snow! The food was delicious and staff wonderful and friendly!
The creaky floors in our room but it didn’t spoil my stay!

Location and views
Well for this money I was expecting a wee bit more. I ask for bath that’s never happened, shower was broken or never worked correctly some of the room supplies was missing ( iron ). At the spa steam room was shut down or never worked. So money value I paid to stay am very disappointed.

We love the Atholl Palace. Staff are friendly. Location is beautiful. It’s a short walk to town. Well maintained grounds with lovely walks. Since it was my husband’s birthday we received an upgrade and a thoughtful gift which was much appreciated.
Sauna was out of order.

Room and atmosphere was very good. Friendly service and very efficient. Stag head bar very good
Spa facilities ok. Massage short and expensive jacuzzi full of such much clothing it made our eyes eater. Steam room was cold and felt grubby. Food tasty, but lacked creative flair. Verandah overpriced for what it presented. Service was always good.

Restaurant food was very good the bar meal was also good.
The room wasn't a little disappointing.
The quality of the room was basic for the price we paid.

I had booked this stay for myself, my daughters and my daughter in law. we had also booked the spa for some treatments on Saturday followed by afternoon tea. We had a lovely time, the staff were so friendly and polite, nothing was too much bother for any of them.
Nothing, everything was to a very high standard.

Comfortable room, all meals, evening and breakfast were very good, staff were excellent and made you feel really welcome. Highland Soap in the room was great for shower use. Really liked the museum, learnt a bit about the hotel from when it was built, that was interesting.
Pity the sauna and steam room was closed, but understand work had to be done and they had to close the area. Its such a big hotel and there were signs of water ingress in areas, its not a complaint, it must be hard work with the maintenance of the building, sadly it made a few areas unsightly, but it was clear work was being done to try and stop the leaks.

A lovely old hotel, the room I stayed in was tastefully modernised without taking away from the character. The staff were all lovely, my room was spotlessly clean. Lovely wee touches like The Highland Soap Co. being used in the bathroom/shower, nespresso machine in room. Pool facilities were nice. Bar was cosy, very large whisky selection. Breakfast buffet was good, a nice selection of fruits, yogurts, juices, cooked items, pastries, muesli etc. Hotel was very warm despite the cold weather and single glazing! Gardens were nice for a walk around. Just on the outskirts of town so lovely and quiet with good views.
The odd thing could do with a refresh but overall no real complaints.

Beautiful building & gardens. So peaceful and relaxing
Bright lights stay on in corridor which shines under bedroom door. Maybe replaced with motion lights?
Jacuzzi not the easiest to get in and out of. Steam room wasn’t steamy and couldn’t find sauna

The palace is an incredible property and part of Scottish history.
Spa area was a bit on the cold side. Particularly the pool and hot tub.

Everything.
Breakfast, grounds,
Not much at all. The only thing could be that we were unable to drink alcohol at the poolside or in the jacuzzi
We always go to a Castle for Our Wedding anniversary. This time we decided to visit a palace.
We've been doing this for 18 years. This Our second visit to Pitlochry. We Visited Fonab 13 years ago and always said we'd return.
Atholl did not disappoint. Although the drinks were a little expensive, the breakfast was superb every morning.
We ate once in the hotel on an evening as this is what we do on Our anniversary date. All other nights we enjoyed Pitlochry Town.
I would revisit Atholl some time in the future. Unsure when as we have plenty of Castles to visit in the British Isles

The breakfast was splendid and there were no delays. Even the troasters worked.

Beautiful building, great pool/spa area, comfortable beds, and good breakfast.
We were there on a stormy night and because it is a old building the windows shook a lot in the wind on the upper floor, may be difficult for someone people to sleep in this case.

Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was good. Nice location with views of the countryside and surrounds.
The room was clean and well presented. It was, however, extremely noisy. There was a fire door outside the room that banged and squeaked the whole night.
The breakfast was adequate, but unfortunately the pastries were not fresh.
10.0 / 10.0
Everything. Nothing at all to dislike. Staff are amazing. Log fire was superb.
A very small and picky thing was that the shower was a little small, especially for women who wanted to wash their hair.

We loved the traditional decor and vibe of the Atholl Palace. We stayed in November and it was lovely to see the festive decorations, Christmas tree and the multiple fires burning downstairs.
Kylie working in the foyer/reception area was lovely and friendly. We discussed our plans while in Pitlochry and also chatted about books we were reading. Bar staff in the Stag bar were great too. Staff really made the hotel feel warm and welcoming.
A few minors areas for improvement regarding modernising some of the decoration ie some general updating and improving the paint jobs in the room.

Beautiful hotel, spacious bedrooms with modern and clean bathrooms. We enjoyed all about the history of the hotel in the museum
Breakfast was not up to standard-food was under-cooked and tea/coffee were served in a flask and very poor. Service at breakfast was also sub-optimal. Let’s down the hotel.
7.0 / 10.0
Breakfast excellent. Some staff excellent.
Rooms good, warm and comfortable with plenty of amenities. Breakfast staff were excellent
Staff in stags head bar disinterested and not good. Real shame as they just couldn’t care less about serving or good customer service. Most patronising manager ever apologising for their lack of service.

We stayed in 3 separate cottages, which were very well equipped and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good, plenty of choice and good quality. The staff were attentive and welcoming. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful.
The weather! Can't blame the hotel for that.
7.0 / 10.0
The staff are first class and make you feel welcome with nothing being too much effort. We had to check out prior to breakfast and they offered us a packed lunch at no extra cost in place of the pre paid breakfast.
There was a wedding when we stayed and we were roomed above the band. It would have been nice if as non wedding guests we had been roomed away from the party.
