The Lu hotel is a nice and quiet countryside hotel located close to some beautiful Sardinian wild beaches with nice staff. The pool area and direct shuttle to some usually difficult to access beaches in that area were the best parts of this hotel. There’s a shuttle that takes you to butterfly beach which is otherwise very difficult to access if you’re with your own car as you have to park far away, pay for parking, and walk about 15-20 min which isn’t ideal with kids. Butterfly beach is just incredible. And there’s a fantastic restaurant right at the beach. The best part of our stay.
We booked 3 nights and only stayed 2 (and weren’t reimbursed). We went for this hotel for their high ratings but a couple of things we wish we knew: the rooms aren’t 4 star quality. It’s more a 3-star. Our room was extremely dark, there was a little balcony with a bit of light but we needed to switch on the light all day to see. The balcony had pigeons and looked quite disgusting with lots of visible pigeon poo. The bathroom door was broken and so squeaky. And the beds were very average.
Another really important note is that this place is about an hour from the Cagliari airport via rural roads through mountains . If you’re traveling with kids it’s not ideal, but doable .

We had a great time! The kindness and helpfulness of the staff, location and condition of the facilities helped a lot to have a great experience. Definitely recommend. The area of Porto Pino is also amazing if you look for nice beaches and nature

All in all it was okay, staff is very friendly, but unfortunately only the entrance looks fancy and then the rooms in the first floor remind you of an old hospital. The room felt very cold and not homey and were a bit smelly (old furniture). But it was clean. It would be nice if the pool was open after 7pm as well, thats the best part of hotels with swimming pool, swimming at night.
