Location is great, in the main street with walking access to everything you need.
Staff was always really helpfull.
The facilities were not bad at all but they show some signs of being a bit old now.

Location and price
Having to climb to the third floor.

Nothing.
Despite asking for a room in upper floors months in advance, they gave me a room on the ground floor with no windows (there is one glass door facing the street but being on the ground floor, the blind needs to be completely down). The room has just very basic facilities, no kettle/coffee maker or anything at all.
Being at the street level, it was very noisy at all times as there is no insulation whatsoever and every guest entering the place, you could hear them since it's the first room just next to the entrance.
Also I booked for Le petit Duquesne but the room they gave me is in a different location (close enough though).

Very, very clean. Friendly staff. Excellent location. Hot shower. Comfortable bed.
More signage on the front door regarding check in and contacting reception. A pay as you go water and coffee machine in the reception would be nice. But it's a very good Hotel. Staff gave me complimentary coffee and sandwich one morning.

Location.
Staff friendliness.
Good bathroom and all commodities.
Luggage holding before check in and after check out - very much appreciated.
Coffee machine without capsules ( special ones we couldn't find on the nearest market).
Noisy during night, ventilation always running.
Bed mattress needs updating.
Different buildings and receptions for same hotel...

The staff were lovely and helpful, the price was very cheap yet the room had everything needed for a one night stay. It was fairly clean and the room had a ventilator. The location is super central.
The room was extremely tiny so for bigger travelers it could have been a problem. It was also quite hot. Checking in late at night wasn’t the easiest as the staff is shared between several hotels, but they were friendly and responsive. It wasn’t so clear to me that the night reception was going to be at a different location than where I was staying.

I absolutely loved Petit Duquesne: my double room was spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. In spite of the August heat and no AC, there was a fan and with windows open it was quite cool at night. The staff were amazing: as soon as I arrived, lovely receptionist Aida saw that I was hot and tired and welcomed me with ice cold water, so kind! They even brought me a kettle so I could make tea in my room. Super central location, quiet and safe.

The personal was way too nice!! Also the location is perfect. And even though my window was just above a very noisy street, I didn’t hear anything when my window was closed. I enjoyed the stay very much.

The Location was fantastic, although quite basic it had everything you realistically need with a very good bakery beneath the hotel and easy access to public transport as it is right in the city centre.

This place was really good value, I have no complaints. The ladies at the reception were friendly, the room was clean and easy to access, and it was close to lots of restaurants, bars, and a supermarket. I was travelling by bike, and was able to store it in their cellar, but I needed to leave before reception opened so they were fine with me taking my bike up into the room with me. Worth knowing that the stairs are very narrow and spiral up, so don't count on this option if you have a huge amount of gear hanging off your bike.

Decent breakfast , good size room and bathroom , location was perfect near transport and restaurants and quiet
It was 38 degrees not the fault of the hotel and no air con was a little tough although the fan was welcome
I left my bag at the bigger 'sister' hotel staff miserable and not very welcoming which was disappointing as the staff at the little hotel.qere llovely

- the location is great!
- the room was fine. Although the bedsheets were about dated and overused.
- the evening receptionist was polite but not particularly welcoming or friendly.
- the morning receptionist was much friendlier.
- there was no lift and the room was on the 4th floor.

The hotel was really excellent - the breakfast was fantastic and good value for money.
One helpful thing would have been instructions for the blind - I didn’t know how to work it and didn’t sleep well the first night. The cleaner helped us locate the mechanism.

This hotel is located on the main street of Nantes - a fantastic location close to bars and restaurants. Great value too considering its location.
It was very warm when we were there – we stayed in a room that faced the sunset, so the room turned into an oven in the afternoon. There's no air conditioning, only a fan, which didn't really help.

The room was a standard hotel room with a kitchenette. The kitchenette was so handy
The stairs were narrow & no lift which is not unusual in older buildings in Europe

location
Not being able to check in at a time at an off time. However, I did catch the person who could check me in and leave my luggage in the breakfast room. Not putting the elderly on the lower floors as they have to hike up the stairs.

Attention: this review corresponds to the Hotel Duquesne, not the Petit Duquesne that I originally reserved. I was upgraded upon arrival to their nearby location which is a two-star hotel. The Petit Duquesne is a one-star hotel. The staff in both places were lovely.
My room was very quiet although it gave onto the street. It had thick double or even triple-glazed glass, so there was no noise. The bed was very comfortable. The shower functioned and had nice and hot water. Very well located, near Commerce station. Both east/west and north/south tramway lines very close by.
There was a very unpleasant smell coming from the sink in the bathroom. I have a very sensitive sense of smell, other people probably wouldn't have been bothered by this. There were a few hairs on the blanket which didn't belong to me, but these are small things. Overall my stay was excellent and I would go back.
