Nice stay in the centre of town.

The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Kilkenny by foot. It's an older hotel, but we expected that and enjoyed it's old world feel. Not for someone who can't manage their luggage with stairs, but we were fine. Breakfast was nice with a good selection and the staff were lovely. Free parking was very helpful. Overall we were happy with our stay

My room was in the newer part of the building so it was clean and comfortable if a little small but I was happy with it

The older part of the building was dark and not very inviting. It badly needs updating but it was clean. Staff were very helpful. The building iis not suitable for wheechairs, buggies or anybody with mobility issues. There are steps everywhere and no lifts. In fact, I fell on some of these steps when trying to get my luggage out at the end of my stay(no obvious help available for moving luggage)

Relaxing, comfortable and luxurious stay in this hotel.

Very central choice for us close to town and walking around. Beautiful old part had bar and restaurant which was excellent value and a great pint. Bedrooms and ensuite were newer and beautiful.

The only niggly thing I would say was that I would have liked 2 chairs in the room, there was only one and the bed to sit on as I said not a deal breaker just an observation.

Poor accessibility to rooms and rest of hotel for guests with mobility issues. Worn and stained carpets on stairs and corridors. Rickety stairs and bannisters. Disappointing quality of cooked breakfast. Very slow service at breakfast.

Excellent, comfortable and friendly

A very comfortable freshly decorated room with everything I needed. I found the sound of the heating/ cooling system too noisy so the staff just turned it off remotely for me - super helpful.

I caught a glimpse of some of the older rooms, which looked a little tired. I was glad I had the room I did.

Great two day stay !!

Lovely room, it was one of the refurbished rooms that had everything you would need: a hairdryer, iron, ironing board,tea and coffee (just needed a couple of biscuits) also had a kettle and bottled water ,air con, TV and a fabulous shower . Comfortable double bed ,xtra pillows. small table and chair. Good mirrors. The location was close to everything. Lovely staff, they provided extra water,milk, ice, etc . We will be back!!

Buffet lacked a little,would like a bit more selection, maybe just needed to be replenished more often. However the hot breakfast which you ordered was lovely !! the staff were brilliant and helpful. Overall, great!.

Rooms very misleading. Pictures advertised were nothing like room we got. Our room was dated and run down. Bathroom poor. Unfair to show pictures that are not what I paid for. I wouldn’t have paid that amount or chosen place based on the actual room we got.

Location was perfect, room was clean and modern and staff were wonderful.

Bed was only a double which was too small and the mattress was hard, but the wonderful staff gave us an extra duvee to soften the surface which helped so much.

Lovely, very helpful staff. Great location. Room was a good size. Hotel was further up the road away from the more noisy bars - but they were all within short walking distance (as were the shops etc.)

Hotel is dated and really could do with a makeover! No lifts and loads of stairs - quite heavy going when you're lugging heavy suitcases. Room was okay...maybe not the cleanest though.

Nice stay

The room was small but it was lovely. Did feel like a single person as all there was was one mug on big and small towel etc. Which was fine I was only there for one night. I stayed on a Saturday night so it was more then I would normally pay but was gojn by pictures but got a small room with a view of big fans and a wall so not exciting for the money I payed.

It my fault with this one as I didn't read the whole story about hotel. There is only stairs and after a long week of volunteering at a camp I was sore and tired and had a big bag I had to lug up serval lots of stairs at the end as one of the staff carried my bag.

Good all round

Location. A lot of nice features. I like the old worldly parts of it but honestly didn’t like my new room - would have preferred a more unique old type room but I did ask for one on the ground floor so that’s my fault I guess!

I wasn’t told my room would be outside the carpark - I was thankful it wasn’t raining! Staff in the morning were lovely. The poor bar man the night before did his best but could have done with help

Put so much strain on my relationship - do not stay

Location is amazing, in the middle of the centre, with parking included. All the good things end there.

Very old and wobbly beds, every time someone in the bed lifts as much as an arm, the entire bed shakes, waking the other up. The rooms were extremely hot, with no options to ventilate. Bathrooms were a bit smudgy, with dark mold along the edges. The sliding door to the bedroom made so much noise! Breakfast was manageable, pastries were nice but the fruit salad was really old and mushy.

The hotel met our requirements for a one night stay and a base for visiting Kilkenny.

Location is excellent. Convenient for accessing the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the room was small, this was not an issue for our one night stay. It was clean and modern and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice and delicious food. The hotel having a free onsite car park was a huge bonus.

As the building is old, the layout was quite confusing. However, had we stayed longer than one night, it is likely that we would have got used to it and been able to find our way round more easily.

Great place to stay!

Enjoyed the quirkiness of steps. Staff were very helpful, accommodating and the best. Enjoyed a surprise of an 11 piece band with great music. Food was excellent! Location was great, many sites within walking distance.
