Great location .

Location is perfect , lovely decor around the different bars and function rooms and theatre is stunning , amazing setting for a wedding . Some nice staff , special shout out to the lady looking after the wedding 13/11th short , hair in a bun she was brilliant. Foods lovely , portions for wedding massive . Rooms are very large and beds comfortable

Rooms need insulation, the walls are so thin my bed actually moved as people walked in rooms around me , a very weird experience. The room over the bar wouldn’t be suitable at the weekend you could hear everything on the street. Breakfast menus very limited if you don’t like eggs . But the biggest issue was accessibility 1 of 2 wheelchair toilets doesn’t fit a wheelchair in it and the other has a standard height toilet bowl , no hand rail and no emergency alarm cord . It really needs to be updated fast . They are good to have ramps for some of the many steps in the hotel but unfortunately they put them away at one point in the day which really confused us as we where in a big wedding party and needed them to access the ballroom !

Fab stay at this hotel. Extremely friendly and attentive staff.

Was there for family wedding had an amazing day staff where so attentive and great with the kids. Food was incredible bar staff at the wedding were incredible, never left anyone waiting. Girls on reception were super friendly. Room Facilities were great and everything was topped up every day.

Covers on one of the beds had make up stains , toilet wasn’t very clean the day we arrived. Breakfast the first morning had burnt bacon. Breakfast the second morning was cold and one of the people at our tables food was forgotten but staff were super apologetic about it breakfast the third morning was perfect. I was in one of the rooms above the bar and it was extremely noisy (I was told about this before hand) didn’t notice it On the first two nights but was a lot more than I was expecting on the Saturday night. I Would still absolutely stay here again

Perfect place to stay in Kilkenny.

Great property in the heart of town, immaculate and beautifully decorated in old style. Staff wonderful. Help with cases upstairs. Our room was fantastic, comfortable bed, big bathroom and every facility needed. We ate in the front bar, delicious. Exactly as promised.

Breakfast was disappointing. I ordered poached eggs, but they arrived overcooked with no presentation — just two eggs on a single piece of toast. The continental breakfast was fair, and the coffee was good.

Easy to find, close to everything and the best bed in Ireland

Bed was fantastic in a spacious room; location is great and close to all main attractions. Loved the band in the evening at the hotel.

Never Again

Good location

I left my watch in my room and contacted the hotel one hour after I checked out. The receptionist told me the cleaning team had not finished cleaning the room I was in and to email them my address and they would post my watch to me. I then received an email to say the cleaning team did not find my watch in the room. I know I left it in the bathroom by side the bath. Extremely disappointed with this outcome and will stay at this hotel again!

Beautiful stay with parking

Very nice room, very spacious too. The bed is huge. Private parking just behind the hotel. We spent the night here on a road trip, the location is perfect.

Water pressure in the shower is weak. This is really the only bit that I didn't like. But I do love a strong shower, hence only 9 out of 10.

Disappointing

The location was good, didn’t eat there

Unfortunately we arrived as a large wedding party was taking place, which seemed to have spread throughout the hotel. We had to pull our cases through the wedding guests to get to our room. It was only the following morning at check out that we could appreciate how lovely the many parts of the hotel were.

Great hotel, rude morning staff

The room was beautiful and most of the staff were lovely.

The girl with the pink hair at breakfast. To say she is rude is an understatement. She has no manners and talks over you before you finish talking. Then she was cleaning the table beside us and sprayed the cleaning spray all up my arm and on my top and I didnt get any apology, she just looked at me for a few seconds while I was wiping it off and then wiped the table and walked away. It was such a good stay but she honestly ruined our morning.

Breakfast was really good and food in the restaurant was lovely. Very friendly staff who were really helpful.

Room was in need of an update. We were there on very hot days and there’s no air conditioning so room was very uncomfortably hot. There was a fan in one of the cabinets but unless you were sitting in front of it, it wasn’t doing much to cool the room.

A delightful stay in Kilkenny

The hotel is a strange combination Neo Gothic and Art Deco. At first I wasn't quite sure as the furniture looked quite tired but it's quite obvious that everything is of the highest quality. Even though the decoration and furniture has been around for a while it is obvious that no expense was spared. From the oddly deconstructed bench seats in the breakfast room to the aluminium topped bar area that looks like a bar from an exotic cruise liner, everything is a bit of a treat to discover.

There was no hot water in the room, which is absolutely unacceptable. Not the best facilities in the room, absence of the basic sanitary things. Overall, poor lighting, especially in the room.

Amazing looking hotel, well located with good food options.

The hotel looks amazing, the restaurant offers tasty dishes, and breakfast was freshly made to order. It’s centrally located and close to a park — perfect for a morning walk or some fresh air. Free parking is also available — a true luxury in the city center.

I had no hot water, so I wasn’t able to shower properly. When I informed reception, the answer I received was “perfect?” — which felt quite inappropriate given the situation. It was far from perfect. Perhaps there was something I needed to switch on, but an apology or at least some explanation would have been more appropriate.

Staff were amazing, loved that to go in Darkey Kelly's Pub you dont need to go outside, loved thier food and music. The music did not reach our room which was two floors above the bar, so no issues there. Would stay again, for sure.

Great hotel with a few quirks!

The room was very clean, there was A/C, bathroom and room were huge, location was great and nice parking area in the back. I didn't have a view but it was really quiet and that's important for me. The original room was on the road and when I asked to switch, it was a bit difficult but luckily my friend switched with me. Breakfast was really good, just a hassle because I didn't book breakfast and they kept wanting me to pay full price (for the buffet) if I sat in the dining room with my friends and ate a la carte which was cheaper. I had to talk with them each time and by the third day I just sat in the other room alone, that only serves breakfast after 9am.

Great location to tour Kilkenny

Great location. A short walk to Kilkenny Castle. Very good breakfast. A very expansive property with a number of restaurant and bar areas. Plenty of parking on site.

It wasn’t clear on booking that our room was in a separate area from the actual hotel although it least the room was close to the parking area.

Not worth the price tag

The room we stayed in was very large and had plenty of room for our family of five to spread out. Two sinks and more than enough towels in the bathroom. A bit out the main tourist area so quiet for the most part.

The hotel was very overpriced. It definitely gave off the appearance of a fancy hotel but the service definitely did match that vibe. The way to the room was confusing and was almost impossible to find if you didn’t know it was there. We were not escorted to our room when we checked in so we had to figure it out in our own and wandering into a staff office before being told by someone working in there where to go. The breakfast room again gave off a fancy vibe the food was very disappointing my children couldn’t even finish the pancakes they were given because they had a weird taste and texture.
