The staff (all of them) are incredibly friendly, helpful, solicitous and professional. They actively seek to make the stay as good as it can be. The beds are comfortable, the room size generous. Great breakfast. The location is stunning. Whilst the hotel clearly depends on events we were made to feel really welcome as individuals. The bar is reasonably well stocked though nothing in the way of a traditional pint (I'm old school mind you). Nice touch with some Welsh-produced drinks including whisky and cider. Lunchtime sandwiches were very nice and good value.
The food in the restaurant is variable. The breakfast was generally excellent (porridge, cooked, cold selection) though the eggs Benedict were unappetising. The evening meal was good in parts - great pizza, excellent chips with the fish and tasty mushy peas, imaginative vegetarian gnocchi. However the fish was a bit wet, the chicken rather dry. The coffee is awful (sorry to say) but there is a good selection of tea.
