The room was in the annex and very quiet. Two TVs!. Lovely comfortable bed. Lots of space and very good fixtures and fittings.

This is really minor, but the blind at one of the windows was a bit 'wonky'. It would be very helpful to have an exterior light to illuminate the path - but these are very small issues.

Fine for a night, breakfast good, room tired

A little disappointed but overall was fine. Travelled for one night and didn't spend much time in room, wouldn't recommend for more than one night or if you needed a cosy spot after a coastal walk! Bathroom tiny!

Fantastic breakfast!

Good location and short, easy walk into Charlestown. Breakfast was amazing with different choices. I had Eggs Royale. Accommodation was mostly in very good condition and beds were comfortable. Our son's twin room was spacious.

We arrived late on a Saturday afternoon and the staff were very busy. After a wobbly start, when we did finally get someone's attention, the staff were friendly, especially the breakfast waitress. Our basic double room was a bit small, but adequate and well equipped. The car park is Grade 2 listed!!! So it's very bumpy for your car and we used a torch to guide us in the dark.

All round great place to stay. We stayed for two nights as a part of our honeymoon trip around the UK. The staff were wonderful, because it was our honeymoon they were lovely enough to celebrate with us with two glasses of bubbles at dinner one night. The accommodation was absolutely lovely, clean, bright and very inviting. Breakfast, I couldn't fault it, a great array of food choices. Staff were wonderful, I highly recommend this venue for both accommodation and food.

Great location but check which room you're allocated

Great location. Friendly staff. Plentiful free parking. Good breakfasts.

Room 6 in the annexe: advertised as a standard double but this room was far too small for two people. There wasn't even room for two bedside tables. And the en suite was literally a cupboard, carved out of one corner of the tiny room; it even had double wardrobe doors! No privacy, no soundproofing. Avoid.

Wonderful place, you will not regret it!

Everything was fabulous, slept very well after a long hard day.

My phones connected fine and the speed is amazing, but I couldn't log my work PC onto the WIFI for a Teams meeting the next morning, another guy I was chatting to had the same issue.

The property was in a great location. The room was bright and modern but it felt very homely.

I found it hard to get a table for dinner which as a resident was a little annoying. I would have thought they would have a table reserved for guests. Maybe as a solo traveler they may not have made me a priority for dining.

Comfortable pub in a great location with good food.

Location is fabulous for visiting Charlestown. Car Park is free. Has all the traditional facilities of a pub that serves food all day. Also has a dog free restaurant. The food is typical pub fare cooked well. Bar and restaurant are disabled accessible. Rooms are nice and comfortable if a little cosy.

Access to the rooms in the pub is via a steep stairs. There is no lift. The car park is cobbled and very uneven.

We stayed in the guest house, the location was great and we had a sea view too. Staff were very friendly and accommodating especially Lily and there was a great choice of delicious food.

Comfortable Rooms and Great Location

A very nice hotel with an excellent room and very comfortable beds. We stayed in a building separate from the main hotel, so had to walk up for breakfast, which wasn’t an issue and on weekends, it might actually be preferable. There’s no lift in this building and the stairs are quite narrow, just for your information. The location is ideal, right in the heart of Charlestown and close to the Eden Project. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

It can get a bit lively on weekends from nearby pub-goers, but it didn’t bother us.

Room was below expectations. En suite was no more than a cupboard. Bed extremely uncomfortable. Extension lead in room for kettle was dangerous. Window would not remain open if not jammed. Room smelled damp. Images in profile was not what we experienced. Would not recommend staying at this establishment.Room3 in cottage expected to stay in main hotel.

The bed was awesome! Very comfortable.

The paint work in the bedroom wasn’t great, cracks in the wall and signs of damp. But I’m putting this down to it being an old building. Sleep was awesome and everything else in the room was lovely. The gentleman behind the bar area, who was over 6ft tall and wearing glasses, came across as very cold and rude. His customer service was awful! But the rest of the team made up for him. We had a lovely waitress in the evening. Good product knowledge, offered recommendations and the food was perfect. Had a lovely evening.

The WiFi didn't work on the first night which as we couldn't get a phone signal meant we were completely cut off. They need to have separate WiFi for the bar and hotel, it's clear there's too many people on one network which means IP Addresses aren't being allocated. This meant slow internet and it would kick us off after a few seconds. Water bottles wouldn't open and wasn't water for tea/coffee.

Wonderful but noisy

It was clean, spacious and offered nice touches in the room like robes and pillow spray.

The noise from the road, the beer garden and within the hotel. It’s the only drawback to what is otherwise a great property.

Quaint stay in a small hotel near a lovely beach but pricey

Antique hotel near the beach and very close to the harbour , good food and nice vibes, staff were friendly and there are lovely walks from the hotel

Rooms are very small for the premium costs with tiny ensuite and sea view rooms only show a tiny bit of the sea , as rooms are obstructed by another building . There is a fan in the room and no air conditioning so can get very warm. Rooms are on top of bar / garden and you cannot have the curtains open till almost midnight as patrons are still in the garden .

Our room was not in main hotel but in separate building and up equivalent of three floors with no lift and with no shaving point. Cramped access to bathroom with no shaving point and toilet seat needed securing. Ceiling fan covered in dust.

Staff and food great, as was the location.

Ensuite really small, only accommodating 1 person at a time. Shower drainage poor. Did speak to a staff member about this. They are aware, old building = old drainage. They have scheduled plans to update/refurbish.

Paid for a superior double expected a little bit more for my money but overall could not fault the staff helpful, polite and couldn't do enough for you

Don’t take the midship room it’s nota standard room. It’s impossible to sleep next to extractor and air con units

We were in room whose only window was directly next to 3 air con units and 2 kitchen extractor fans . The noise was so bad we had to keep window shut which meant zero ventilation but it still did not block out noise which meant we got hardly any sleep . This room should be an economy option at a reduced price and should not be sold as a standard room at the price of £ 155 . Senior staff were very unhelpful yet it was clear we were not the first to complain about this room
