Superb location right on the sea front, access to free coffee in the reception area, good food, attentive and friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, quiet room, early check in
Mediocre cleanliness in the room, dusty surfaces, a kettle which looked like it had it had mold in the bottom, the hallways and room could do with a fresh lick of paint

This was such an unexpectedly pleasant stay! Location is good, it's a walkable and convenient distance from Kalmar C station and Kalmar Castle. The common spaces feel cosy and the rooms are really decently-sized and comfortable. It is cool that they refurbished this hotel from an old warehouse. There were also free coffee and tea (of a good variety!) for guests. We had both breakfast and dinner included in our package, which is a bit unusual for a hotel, but the dinner served was delicious, and I don't think we would have a more enjoyable meal outside anyway. Staff were really friendly too. Fantastic accommodation, it's such a pity we only stayed one night!
There was a spider in the bathroom (based on other reviews, seem like I wasn't the only one), I guess it comes with staying in an old building. May be a turn off for guests who are scared of insects.
