The room was very fun and cozy. Skylights, exceptionally comfortable duvet covered beds, and a warm, lovely bathroom and tub were among the delightful amenities of this suite. Room service dinner was delicious and staff made our stay as personal as possible. They held our baggage while we toured with friends before check-in and graciously made my husband comfortable in the drawing room the next day after check out--while I went to the nearby Fenix Museum before our afternoon flight.

Absolutely wonderful. The location, the decor the layout all fabulous. However it was the staff who made the stay so memorable. Very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful as well.

Hotel was perfectly situated within walking distance of the Rotterdam Port and train stations. The staff was wonderful and the food for breakfast was outstanding. The Suite was larger than expected with two separate rooms - one made up for our kiddo. The master bath was luxurious after a red eye from Atlanta to Amsterdam. Would definitely stay again!

It was a little too far from things for a tourist. I walk a lot so I thought an 8-10 minute walk from the metro/buses didn't seem too bad when booking but, in reality --with very windy, chilly days in spring, some rain etc, I would probably pick another hotel closer to sites/bridges/restaurants.

We had a very beautiful Suite facing the river. It was very spacious and the room height was amazingly high. Bathroom was clean and spacious (never seen the shower head so high in my life :) The hotel has an old charm and is very well maintained and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and service attentive. Over all our stay was really good in this hotel and we would certainly consider this hotel for our next visit in Rotterdam.

The minor thing that happened in the reception when we arrived was that they took our credit card in the back room, which is not acceptable any more. We told the reception about this when leaving and think they understood us. The other thing was that there was a cocktail menu, but not ingredients for making a cocktail on the list. Also one extra beer, which we didn’t ordered, was delivered (hopefully but accident) and charged to us.

The building and room is stunning and the staff is very friendly and happy to tell about the history of the hotel / building.

The price of the hotel is not cheap. The suite we booked had no unobstructed view. 40 euro for 1,5 later check-out is too high and we didn’t go for the breakfast (also about 40 euro per person).

stair access to mezzanine bathroom for the less mobile may not be suitable , but otherwise made the room feel spacious .

Welcoming staff, location well cleaned. Hot tub was amazing, big restroom nice for relax. In the room there was also free coffee, tee and Bluetooth audio available. 8.5/10

In this review I'm trying to not take in consideration the bar. I read the menu and ordered a Mojito. If it would have been a Mojito, it would have been the worst I haver had. Basically it was just a glass of bad quality Rum. There was mint and lime, yes, but the mint hadn't been pressed and the lime hadn't been squeezed. Sugar not detected. Result: rum with ice. Maybe in periods where they have more clients they hire a bartender, but obviously if people who are doing a different job also have to make a cocktail it's not the best. 12.5€ for that, so if you going there stay away from the nice looking bar. I haven't tried the food, but on the chalkboard the Hotel was recommending bitterballen. An improvable thing are the windows: in the bedroom there was a lot of air coming from outside due to old windows. I suppose that they can't change much of those due to an historical building, but maybe using double glasses or double windows like they do in different locations would be really nice, so customers don't have to waste energy with the heating. Still related to windows, in the bathroom it was not easily doable to close all the blinds, basically impossible to close the top one. For privacy would be nice to change the settings there. Last remark: the door of the room seemed to be the weak point for the noise. I could hear people outside of if, so probably still not the best and something improvable. To note that I'm being punctilious here, due to an high cost room and high quality overall.
